Man if I'm honest if thats the starting point for this line seriously the arrow is pointing up.

We ran for over 100 yards tonight Coleman looked good to me tonight pass pro needs work.

Having Levitre for 4 pracitses Person's probably one of very few starts at C man I have to say as mentioned I'm pretty darn happy.

There's every reason to think this Oline will get better- 3 new starters, a new scheme, went up against a solid Dline. Ryan puts a little more under the passes into the end zone and to Coleman, this game is out of reach.

Falcons are going to put some points up this year.

D should get better too. Loved Jarrett's hit that caused the INT, also loved that the Falcons went for the TD afterwards. This is not the team from last year.

Agreed. But there was still a bit too much inconsistency with the OL though.

The inconsistency came when we didn't get anything done on early downs. If I'm honest when we were rolling I thought the line did really well. It's not stellar by any standard but as Imentioned earlier the arrow at least is pointed in the right direction.

For me it only re-enforced how much unfounded panic this board was in after the Miami game.

Is Matt Ryan just that bad at executing a QB sneak? I feel like it has been years since I have seen him try one on 3rd and 1.

This was exactly what I was about to say. It seems the Falcons still think Vick is back there. Ryan is 6'4 230 lbs not 6' 200 lbs. That to me was really the only playcall that I didn't like.

Running the same play on 3rd w a flip was a bad decision. Should've ran a counter or play action. Malcom Jenkins sniffed it right out.

yeah counter was right call there... they crashed box particular to short side and I like my chances of letting Tevin run to far side and out run defenders to stretch for 1 yard

Overall, i was pleasantly surprised by the OL play. Given the circumstances coming into the game and the Eagles having a good front, i expected a trainwreck.

Pass blocking was actually solid, allowing for the slower developing play action to be very effective.

Run blocking was a different story. The interior OL was getting pushed back nearly every running play. The 3rd and 1 call was dumb given what had been happening all game. The play fake with Ryan bootleg still catches the opposing D napping and would have made more sense as a misdirection since PHI had been crashing through the middle all night. But even with those criticisms, the run game showed improvement. 32 carries (not counting kneeldowns) showed a commitment to the run and Coleman had a solid 80 yards and 4 ypc. Coleman needs to be the RB when the Falcons want to run the ball, at least until the OL improves.

If the Falcons OL can "gel" (and more importantly, get tougher run blocking from the interior), the offense will be fine.
