Saints @ Cardinals Official Gameday Thread

Recommended Posts

This is going to be a test for the saints to see if they are really back in the hunt. The main test for the saints coming out of the preseason is to see whether Rob Ryan has shored up the defense. Saints either cut loose or have injured several key pieces on defense which could make it a tough go this season.

On offense they lost Jimmy Graham and Kenny Stills so they have a wily veteran in Colston and a WR in Cooks who has yet to emerge. The running game is to be featured according to saints brass this season apparently to take some pressure off the aging Drew Brees.

There is plenty of question marks going into this season for the saints Payton and Ryan, who may be nearing the end of the New Orleans tenure if they do not turn this thing around.

The Cardinals have Palmer back which should make for an interesting test for the saints revamped defense.

The Cards ain't exactly the Falcons offense

The Cardinals have a better offense than the Falcons when Palmer is healthy, they have a top 10 running offense and a top 10 passing offense with a decent offensive line.. The Falcons have Julio Jones and Matt Ryan, The Falcons or still good but the Saints has had the best offense in the NFL forever.

Payton on the sidelines yelling at Rob Ryan after the last TD

So far plan A and plan B not working for the saints:

A) run the ball, not working at 2.8 ypc

B ) improve defense so far it is not improved

C) Falcon reach. The defense Has played much better since the start. Run game has been more effective than the ypc shows.

I'm just stating the truth. This last TD was another defensive breakdown. Might be a long season for you guys considering the defense is not fixed and the running game went for 2.7 ypc today.. Way to many screen passes by Breesus and no downfield passing. Plus, you missed Graham in the redzone as y'all were 1 for 4 there today!
