JDaveG
What does this mean for Matthews? Jake only plays Lt so will Matthews move back to the right side? I kinda hope so because its looking like he doesn't have the strength to handle the opposing teams best rusher. He'll play RT or he'll be a backup is my bet. g-dawg
He'll play RT or he'll be a backup is my bet.Yeah, they are not going to jerk around with their franchise OT again like they did last year. Jake Matthews is the LEFT TACKLE - period!

Freaking out about whether or not we sign a guy, who you have no clue whether is any good or not, is pretty **** entertaining to watch. Still early though. Booooooooo!!!!!!!!!Who the h3LL is 4th & Atlanta?
Knight of God
We know how good Holmes and Polumbus are. Which is why we are excited about bringing in a multi year pro bowler. No way he's worse than Polumbus or Holmes even if he's in a wheelchair sucking Wheaties through a straw.

What a player has done in the past means nothing. It's what they can do right now, that matters. The same is true of all players, both Holmes and Long. TrueBut....Everyone knows Jake Long is not 100% and at his prime - if so, he would be still with Rams or Dolphins and on a long-term $10mm+/yr.The true question is - is an 70-80% Jake Long better than Ryan Scraeder? Or a 50-60% Jake Long better than Tyler Polumbus? That IS the question.

hjerry
So Matt Ryan could suck this year and Ryan Fitzpatrick could be amazing. Gotcha. You Holmes lovers sure love to embrace the suck.Lol, you're hilarious. Nothing in this offseason would lead to believe either of those things, but feel free to pretend that you made a point.Meanwhile, everything this offseason has supported the coaches liking Holmes, while nothing in this offseason has suggested that Long is anywhere near a starting level, let alone a "pro bowl" level. g-dawg
I feel if it was going to happen it would have already.Yeah, I think it was afternoon tryout - if that went well, negotiations would start tonite and finish in morning. I would guess if it si going to happen, we might not find out until tomorrow afternoon - this is not your typical scrub looking for a job - this is former #1 overall pick and multiple time pro-bowler coming off two major injuries. This would be a difficult negotiation between Long's agent and Falcons.

Guest Dirty Bird Nation ®
I didn't know Atlanta sports was popular enough to have a satire site. Really isn't. Look at this thing's twitter feed. It looks like some Atlanta fan that gets bored every few months.
