How many new skill position players are the Eagles using this year?

How does that effect their execution in the regular season?

Can Atlanta get any kind of running game going?

Can we pressure an immobile Sam Bradford or "butt-fumble"?

I am chomping at the bit to get this ish rollin'

Eagles got some shiny new toys at receiver like their 1st round pick Nelson agholobar(sp?). More importantly is the speed of their offense. They are constantly in a hurry up offense to keep the D on their heels. This can lead to trouble if you start to stall on offense, as your defense quickly tires and things spin out of control

Thankfully this year we are playing a simple scheme on D so they don't have to be *thinking* instead of going at it hard and playing ball. We should be able to create interior pressure and move Bradford off his game, and once you do that Bradford quickly deteriorates to a subpar QB.

Julio is going to give Maxwell a nice christening to being a #1 corner. Think this match up will get ugly. Final score 31-17 Falcons

EDIT Hawley released. 0 chemistry up front and 0 depth. Prediction changed, 30-17 Eagles

Think it really helps having his extra time to prepare for them and their tempo. Also helps is that the Eagles won't have too much film on us.

We've used so many different variations along the line and at WR, they haven't seen much of Coleman or Devonte, there's a lot of unknown for the Eagles.

On defense we have used a cover 3 zone so much that I know there isn't a lot of film on us playing man or really doing much of anything.

I think Quinn and the staff handled this pre season very very well.

I looked it up before so going off memory but it's two very similar stories. Rankings from last year I think were Offense: Phi-5 / Atl-8 Defense: Phi-20 / Atl-32 Special Teams Phi-13 / Atl-5 or something similar to those.

And both off seasons have seen a drastic overhaul. The Eagles are looking at finally having all the pieces Chip Kelly wants in place for his team and the Falcons are re-working what was here and bringing in what we could to start building Quinn's team. I think it'll be a great test for both teams. I think playing this at home gives us a toss up, whereas if it were played in Philly I think the Eagles take the win.

Looking forward to being back in the ATL, its been 6 months since my last visit!

I think it'll be a high scoring entertaining MNF game....

I got ATL winning 33-30 in classic Bryant game winner fashion. I really think we win or lose this game by the sole play of 5 players.. Hageman,Babs,Jarrett,Soliai, and Jacksom. If they can make noise up the middle then the Eagles won't be able to function. So let's hope they get the job done!

The Egg-uls are a 1 point favorite and the over/under is 55pts.I can't wait to see some real football.Quinn will put the heat on fragile Sam,but can we run the ball and protect Matt ?

Falcon's win 35-28

I think the odds makers are right. Specifically I'm thinking this game will be on the line till the last minute and drive.

Quinn's defense was the only one that held the Eagles under 20 points all last season, and they held them to 14. I will be disappointed if they come onto our homefield and put up 30+ points. This will be a big test for our entire team though.

I'm not saying it's an all or nothing game for us, but I am saying we will have a really good idea of what kind of season we will have after our first game. I'm really glad it's in the Dome rather than on their field.

Normally I would agree that the 1st game will be an indication of what our season will be like but I think this season will either...

1. Start slow and end up finishing strong

2. Start fast, get put back down to earth, and then finish strong

I do think that this first game will indicate which one of the above will happen, but I don't think a loss indicates a losing season.

Edit: I did just assume that's what you meant, if that's not then I apologize.

Considering how prolific their offense already is and then you add Bradford (who has the potential to be a great QB), it's going to be a high scoring game. Like someone else said, our victory will depend on our Beasley, Babineaux, Hageman,Soliai, TJax, and Schofield to get pressure.

I don't normally go negative, but I don't feel very confident about us winning this game. This is more like a dress rehearsal for the Falcons because our guys have not had time for any continuity. Also, quite a few starters haven't played or have barely played in the preseason and Levitre just got here. I'm definitely worried, but hopefully we can pull it out.

I think our first four games will be tough. Wouldn't be surprised if we drop this one. As long as we go 2-2 out of the gate we should be OK.

Unfortunately I totally agree with this view. People seem to be disregarding the fact that the eagles have been a winning team two seasons in a row. They have their **** together. I wouldn't be shocked to see us win this one, but I consider the Falcons the underdogs of the matchup.

Additional notes: Quinn's defensive philosophy is one of the few schematic wise that matchup well with Kelly's offense. I think our corners can hang on the outside as long as the front seven brings anything close to what we've seen throughout the preseason. The problems are going to come if and when we realize that our o line can't keep up with their front seven. I think their defense will be ready for the zbs while our front five will barely be able to play well as a unit. I hope I'm wrong by all means. I'd love to start the season 1 and 0.

You guys make good points. But the fact that we are at home and it's a hungry fresh start makes this game a realistic close match up. We have the better passing while they have the better running. They have continuity and we are now playing a basic attacking style that has had success against the Eagles. Can't wait to see this game we have to make a statement and have momentum against the next tough opponents!

the thought of losing to the Eagles at home mnf, season opener...

makes me want to vomit.

was reading comments on their board and the general consensus is they're going to destroy us in all phases. I can't blame them for being optimistic, but ****..

please baby Jesus lying there in your manger, bless our team, and don't allow the filthy eagles to embarrass us
