wurzshep19
So they aren't trading. He already said he is pushing hard even if he is the back up. I can't see him getting cut. Any chance he needs surgery or didn't heal right??? What the heck is going on.

Kaptain Krazy
Nothing about this makes any sense. Unless the blocking scheme is "we want to get our QB injured," there is NO scenario in which Asamoah is not one of the five best OL on the roster. paulitik
Atlanta Falcons @AtlantaFalcons 6m6 minutes agoContrary to speculation, the Falcons are not trading guard Jon Asamoah. #BALvsATLThat makes it even stranger. At least if we trade him, we get something.
sanfranfalcon
the strange thing to me is he answered his phone 'during' the game!!! he was definitely tryin' to say something without sayin' it!!!
likeriver
I wouldn't jump to conclusions but it would suck if Shanahan was somehow involved in this. Seems like wherever he goes rumors start spreading about him.

Truth B Told (TRU)
Vaughn McClureESPN Staff Writer Falcons veteran right guard Jon Asamoah, who lost his starting job to Chris Chester, was not on the field or in uniform for Thursday's night final preseason game against Baltimore. When reached by phone Thursday night, Asamoah said, "Man, I can't even talk about it right now." The Falcons did not announce a roster move and could be trying to trade Asamoah. http://espn.go.com/espn/now?nowId=21-0431243957104547369-4Quinn said after practice he was looking forward to seeing Asamoah play today. Maybe Asamoah had a family matter to attend to or maybe Asamoah will secretly be the starter against Philly.http://www.atlantafalcons.com/media-lounge/videos/Branch-Report-Who-to-Watch-Against-Baltimore/5e2a8ccc-5838-422a-9988-073ea5325ffa Edited September 4, 2015 by Truth B Told (TRU)
likeriver
Maybe Quinn doesnt like himI couldn't see Quinn having a falling out with a player, especially one as highly regarded as Asamoah. But I could see it happening with Shanahan. Shanahan seems nice enough, but considering what I mentioned before, I could see bad relationships developing.Edit: Keep in mind this very broad speculation. Very likely this is not what happened. sanfranfalcon
i wish someone would ask Quinn why Asamoah never saw the field with the other starters...NONE of the combinations blew anyone away!! so why does that a combination of Matthews, Chester, Stone/Hawley, Asamoah and Schrader NEVER see the field!! that is what pi$$es me off!!! try the d@mn combo!!! He's the secret starter bro. The coaching staff new all along that Asamoah was the best lineman on our team. Philly's gonna game plan to exploit Stone and then Asamoah's gonna show up on the field looking mean and ready to kick ***.This is just another one of Shanahan's elaborate ploys to confuse the enemy. The fact that that makes no sense is why I was thinking they were keeping it under wraps. They seemed confident that they could get the run game going all preseason and I felt like that could be why
