atljbo
A guy to keep our eyes onJason Cole @JasonColeBR Aug 28 Second week Andy Levitre doesn't start for #Titans. Expect him to go b4 season. Trade remote. #Dolphins, #Eagles logical landing spots. Titansonline's Jim Wyatt said he "can't see a scenario" where G Andy Levitre makes the team without being a starter. Considering Levitre has all but lost his left guard job to Byron Bell, this means his days in Tennessee are likely done. The Titans can save $2.3 million by releasing Levitre, but they will have to eat $6.3 million in dead money. Aug 31 - 11:56 AM I dont think anyone will trade for him.. The guy fits the zone blocking scheme

since68andcounting
Sounds more like a money decision to me. You got 2 guys, one is younger, maybe slightly better, and a lot cheaper. He can't be worse than what we got now. He fits the ZBS. He won't be cheap, but we got cap room. Plus Nashville is close enough where he wouldn't have to move his family right away.Perfect situation imo
Knight of God
Hopefully we get to him early. We aren't the only team interested in what happens there.
falconrej
Atljbo, I wanted to start a thread about this but dont have enough post. I was thinking the same thing. I read this somewhere last week..
paulitik
It's really sad that I'm crossing my fingers that a player that's about to get cut is the hope to fixing our OL issues, and it's Andy Levitre. Sigh.
brown bomber
I'll take him or next year in FA J.R. Sweezy from SEA.
atljbo
Jon Asomoah lost his job to James Stone.BRUHHHHHH... I was just about to say that.... Ppl act like scheme fit is not a factor and other factors dont count ..... Evan Matis got cut and philly went after chester to take his spotAndy Levitre had a down year last year on a bad line no doubt ... That doesnt erase the other really good years
AndySG
He used to be a top guard. Hopefully he is released and we can bring him in on the cheap. Scheme fit.
MR Falcon
We should be able to get us a couple of good linemen that fits our ZB scheme through the cuts, it will take about 4 weeks to get them up to pace with our play book and start working on gelling together. Romfal
at least as far as a name goes, he would be a good pickup
spanish_falcon
Yes, we should be interested in him as soon as he´s released
jeffro2000
He was as good as any Guard in the league while in Buffalo and was paid accordingly.I doubt anybody will trade for him and take on that contract. Keep hearing Philly as a landing spot. I know he went to Oregon St, so if he is from the Northwest, Seattle may be appealing. Money talks though, but you can't overpay in case he doesn't return to form even in a zbs.
Atlfanstckndenver
Hopefully we get to him early. We aren't the only team interested in what happens there.Well at least the Broncos Have their guard spots set.
paulitik
https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/639427156318269441Sounds like Tennessee might give Levitre the Asomoah treatment.Ian Rapoport @RapSheet 3m3 minutes agoA player talked about on the roster bubble is #Titans G Andy Levitre, set to make $6.5M. Sounds like they’re set to keep him as a backup tho
Flying Falcon
Backup? That ain't good. Is this guy better than what we have now?
jeffro2000
Wow. An $8M cap hit for a backup interior lineman. That is crazy, but they don't save much from cutting him, so I can see it. I guess.
DoYouSeeWhatHappensLarry
We should probably try to explore a trade/restructure combo with him. We can't justify paying him $6.5m but we definitely want to get the jump on others.
DoYouSeeWhatHappensLarry
Backup? That ain't good. Is this guy better than what we have now?He was very good in a ZBS in Buffalo. Poor fit in Tennessee.
paulitik
He was very good in a ZBS in Buffalo. Poor fit in Tennessee. If we aren't going to play Asomoah, we should just do a swap.
FentayeJones
The only way the offensive line will impreove is 1) Draft Better, 2) Develop what you have, 3) Via trade. Although there are some exceptions, I dont think teams are all that inclined to let good offensive lineman hit the street.
Flying Falcon
Well Fentaye, I don't believe that drafting is an option with us. So I guess that leaves the other two options.
bigbabygrady
maybe they would be open to a trade for a late round pick in order to not take the cap hit. but he would need to be agreeable to reworking his deal which he probably wouldn't be
DoYouSeeWhatHappensLarry
The latest blurb on rotoworld said he was probably sticking on the roster :/
