Tuggle'2
Before the irrational Hawley haters come in I have to say this really does make me feel a little better. it is night and day with and without the guy. He is a decent center. He is fine for holding down the job until we can actually find an upgrade.
Radiohead
Certainly good news, but he seems oft injured and even if he stays healthy, that doesn't change the fact that our OG play is atrocious.
Guest Gritz
I guess I don't understand this issue with his knee. According to Hawley himself the knee is structurally sound and is healed (as well as it can be after getting the tear repaired). Is he not playing because the Falcons doctors aren't allowing him to? Is he opting not to play because of the soreness?I'm confused.

MattM12
From Joe's perspective, Mentally, recovering from an injury like this is huge. He will gain trust on it over the season. The coaches just don't want to get him hurt. Let's not get it twisted. Hawley is vital to our success. For his line calls alone. Theyhateme : )
I rag him a lot...but I sure am comfortable with him in there. They are a more cohesive unit with him out there...he needs to quit "throwing" himself on the ground risking an injury.

I know he got snaps in that game.My previous post wasn't a criticism of Hawley. I just thought someone might have some better info about his knee. I just thought someone might have some better info about his knee.He got 17 snaps in that game so if soreness was a problem I'd think he wouldn't play at all. He said in this article that his knee actually felt closer to normal and that they were getting guys reps to see who could play. I think that's why he didn't start, at least that's what I'm getting from it.I didn't intend for that question to be defensive if it came across that way, I just couldn't figure out what game he missed...lol
raysnill1
that's fine and all as long as Asamoah is lined up next to him if he's indeed starting

FenixFalcon
Pearson/Person started at C against the Fins.Perhaps they were just being smart not putting a dude who's just coming off an awful knee injury up against suh? Happens if suh gets pissed and stomps on it. Dude's known to have a temper and he's already enough of a force to potentially reinjure that knee just by Hawley going up against him. I trust DQ on what he did with the line for game 3, but I sure how we have that OL talent that it takes to be competitive throughout the season. I'm cool with the mixing and matching, however, we must keep #2 healthy this season.

Not even Tebow (I'm sort of being sarcastic here) could save our season.

He can at least help to keep Ryan upright.

Also gives them a better chance to evaluate other players for depth. It would make much less sense to push him out their during pre season.
