BackForThe2ndTime
I'm visiting to go to see some family and go to the game. I am planning to wait until that weekend/night to buy tickets. I do this with Wizards games in DC when the Hawks visit because I always still end up with a good selection and cheaper prices. Is it foolish to assume I'll have the same success with the opening night game?
Tiny Black Dog
Opening night + MNF + Eagles = One of biggest games of yearI'm thinking prices will be significantly above face value

SyCo
I wouldn't risk waiting. season opener on MNF against a team many consider a rival..plus sths h0re their tickets out to rival fans...I'd just go ahead and purchase now.
Capitalist
Your strategy might only work if you were ok with missing all or part of 1st quarter...Worse case, you get locked out... Depends on how bad you wanna go
bigbabygrady
I know a lot of eagles fans who already have tickets
Tuggle'2
I would buy tickets ahead of time. Of course when it comes to something like this my OCD would cause me to go insane if I didn't have everything in order for the trip before hand. Is it foolish to assume I'll have the same success with the opening night game?IF you only need one seat you might be ok to wait. But if you're looking for 2 or 4 together, you probably wanna look online now. The Eagles always draw 5k-10k of their own fans. Plus it's opening night, Monday Night, and if we keep looking good in pre-season there will be a lot of excitement. The Braves are out of it. The Dawgs play out of town that weekend. Plus it's even harder now to buy scalped tix at the dome because most of the areas where the sellers congregate has been wiped out for the new stadium. The cops run them off and there's even less area to patrol now.Chances are there is someone now who may have to sell because they are gonna be out of town on business. This is about the right time to start checking stubhub and ticxchange for a good deal.
Theyhateme : )
Don't mess around...get them ahead of time.
g-dawg
Wow, not many degenerate gamblers on TATF. To the OP, I say "go for it" but you will have to wait until game starts to get best deal - always a chance you get counterfeit tix though. Shelley#37
There should be plenty at the corner of Centennial Olympic park drive and Marietta St. hit up Falcons tailgates beforehand and there should be some tickets available.
Leggggggo
I do this all the time for things I don't really care about (Nationals games mainly)...If you want any kind of high quality seat, I'd go ahead and purchase now... If you are happy upper level end zone or the such, you'll likely be able to score plenty out in front of the stadium...Falcons fans are fickle in my experience. They show up early season and falter if it's not going well later on...
falconcrest58
I'm a 25 + yrs STH going back to Fulton Cty stadium days. I would wait until 30/-45 mins before game time to buy tickets. I'll bet you get in for close to face value. I've been doing it for many years and remember it's Atlanta. Two years sago against the Panthers was the most demand I've seen in 20 yrs and that's includes the PO games against GB Seattle SF. It takes balls but I'd do it. I'll be there looking for tix as well for family and friends.
