Rank Falcons Players In Order Of Most Indispensable

With all of these key players going down - Kelvin Benjamin/Panthers and Jordy Nelson/Packers - to name a few - I always hold my breath this time of year on Falcons losing a key player or players for injury. So, while this is not FUN, here is what I perceive as the most indispensible players (for 2015 season only)- with #1 being the most indispensible - factored in is quality back-ups behind said player (i.e. William Moore is less valuable because Kemal Ishmael is almost as good):

  1. Matt Ryan, QB
  2. Julio Jones, WR
  3. Jake Matthews, LT
  4. Desmond Trufant, CB
  5. Vic Beasley, DE
  6. Justin Durant, OLB
  7. Brooks Reed, OLB
  8. Ryan Schraeder, RT
  9. Adrian Clayborn, DE
  10. Paul Worrilow, MLB
  11. Robert Alford, CB
  12. Rashede Hageman, DT
  13. Ricardo Allen, FS
  14. Devonta Freeman, RB
  15. Tevin Coleman, RB
  16. Chris Chester, OG
  17. James Stone, OG
  18. Jonathan Babineaux, DT
  19. Roddy White, WR
  20. Leonard Hankerson, WR

again, the criteria I used for ranking is not necessarily "best player" (if it was Julio would be #1 an Beasley would be #3). Simply, the most irreplaceable players for 2015 season.

What say you?

Ryan

Jake (No OT depth this year, these are the only two I may think "Okay game over" if they go down)

JJ

Tru

Schraed (same reason as Jake)

Beas

Durant

Worr

Allen (Depth issues again)

Nobody else would be game destroying to lose imo.

you could certainly make the argument for Jake being #2 ahead of Julio - I just have a hard time putting our best player at #3 - but I agree that Julio is probably more replacable - which was my criteria.....

I am not changing my rankings - but I concede the point. Only think I would say is we have not really seen Jake play at an elite level yet.

Not elite, no, but he was playing quite well last year imo. But that's not even it, if Jake goes down who's our LT? Polumbus? Man that is really scary. Jake is a HOF'er compared to everybody behind him.

Based on the first two pre-season games, if Jake goes down then the other Jake is coming in. Jake Rodgers. Haven't seen Polumbus get one snap at LT, and after seeing him at RT, I don't want to.

So yeah, Jake Matthews is real high on the list.
