Bring It
Yeah, my hunch is that the Falcons have shown almost NOTHING of their playbook and arsenal that will be unleashed week 1 of the season.Waiting till it counts to let the bullets fly. Butudontseeme™
Julio said as much in an interview on 92.9 the other day. That's kind of exciting.
FentayeJones
You may be right but that can be said for most teams. I think we may see a little more against Miami though.

Draftnut57
Hunch ?? No we don't want anybody from N.D.
Keys
Not having a vanilla game plan anymore will be exciting. Maybe the first play won't be a RB up the middle for 2 yard gain?
Lee Harvey Oswald
I have a hunch that teams will have no game film on our coaches, so we are bound to be somewhat successful.
Romfal
Dress rehearsal/game plan week coming up.its still likely going to be mostly vanilla stuff. Dress rehersal mostly refers to the players going through an actual "normal" work week to get in rythm for the season.

likeriver
I think Shanahan is going to be a good OC. He seems like the kind of guy that likes to get creative with his X's and O's. Kind of like Mike Nolan, but unlike our defense last year, we have the personnel on offense to execute it. Quarterback
Like the Seahawks defensive approach, you know you're pretty good when you can just beat people with your speed, physicality and enthusiasm. Resorting to trick plays and exotic schemes on offense or defense when you can't score or defend versus doing this as an additive to keep an opponent off balance is what we've had the past couple of years. Guess I've been mislead all this timewell, they will make a game plan, but not one that will give away anything to the week 1 opponent. Thats what a "full week prep" entails
hjerry
This is true for virtually all teams. For most teams, there is zero game planning or strategy for games 1,2, and 4. Game 3 is the only one that they plan for, and the gameplan for it, is very vanilla. With a few exceptions each year, this is how most teams approach the preseason. Our 1s have been completely dominant. We are a combined 31-0 in the 1st quarter of those games. 😧

Bring It
I think Shanahan is going to be a good OC. He seems like the kind of guy that likes to get creative with his X's and O's. Kind of like Mike Nolan, but unlike our defense last year, we have the personnel on offense to execute it. Starting with a true QB......with a high IQ.......that understands NFL football. Shanahan can't wait for Sept. 14.
DocMan
I agree with your hunch. My only concern is that when the new offense is fully revealed that we will have players on the field with the ability to execute it. I believe this to be true in the passing game, the running game........I'll have to wait and see. Here's to hoping that the return of Freeman and Coleman can make vanilla look exotic and exotic truly incredible. Time will tell.
