If We Cut Yates And Bierrman Save 2.55 Mil In Cap Savings

Recommended Posts

I Just looked at over the cap. After reading the cut bierrman for making a and cut Yates for Renfree threads one reason that makes sense to do that is it will give us a cap savings of 2.55 million 1.425 for bierrman and 1.125 for Yates. This could help us either with getting Julios contract done by freeing up some more money, or adding some oline help. If Yates and Renfree are neck and neck take Renfree he costs less and the same goes with bierrman and maponga.

Bier is at least ok as a backup. I'd rather keep him considering the injury history of a lot of the players we brought in from FA. It wouldn't bother me if we lost yates though.

But he's been outplayed by everyone from Maponga to Starr. There's just not a spot for him with the young talent energized.

Or maybe that's the main reason we haven't seen diddly squat from Biermann all preseason. He's already been told he's making the 53 so he is in full coast mode.

Biermann will make it as a ST beast and competant back-up with plenty of starting experience. Most hate him because he never should have been a premier pass-rusher and starter, but he's a solid back-up.

Besides, if Biermann goes who will be our 3rd string kicker?!

Some of y'all have to let go of that Biermann hate. He's cheap and we need bodies at that position. Despite the fact that he never lived up to what people thought he would be or his last contract he's a decent option off the bench to come in and potentially get 3-5 sacks next season. Keep in mind as the season went on and he got further removed from that injury he actually looked better. Try not to read too much into what he "didn't do" in two preseason games.

He got 4.5 playing pretty much every snap last year so how would he replicate that with only 10 snaps a game?

We dont have to worry about julios cap number this year....if the deal is done before the season, his bonus/guarantee is prorated through the life of the deal...if he gets 50mil guaranteed for 6 years thats less than 10 per plus average salary. He already is a 10 mil hit right now. He is gonna be a 12mil hit or so....not a big deal really as compared to his current salary

Cut these 2 clowns and get some Oline help . Either Mathis or Long . If we are serious about making a run

Lol

Not getting Mathis or Long, does not show that we are not serious.

We also could either without having to release these two, and could have for some time, as could have most of the league.
