autigerfan
Most of the talk surrounding FA offensive linemen has been about Mathis or Long but Meyers was a very good center in Houston for a number of years and is still available. I didnt get to see much of the game against the Titans but heard center was a concern.
ryanadonis
How Dare You? How dare you come in here and talk about Joe Hawley and the center position like that. Hawley has it all wrapped up for him like a present under the christmas tree. He doesn't have to prove anything. If he has a bad game, there is no such thing as Hawley having bad games. If Hawley makes a mistake, like getting blown back 5 yards, its the guards fault, not his. Why are we even talking about adding potential competition for the likes of Joe Hawley. He has a great beard, great personality, nice going and would love to have a beer with kind of guy, why should we look to replace him? Seriously? He is playing at 90 percent, which is 40 percent better than the average human playing the center position, so why EVEN ask about Competition? Culain_04
Maybe we could get Jeff Van Note to come out of retirement..Center will be fine as long as Hawley doesn't get hurt

Guards with Stone and Chester, I can't imagine it. I GOT AN IDEA. PERSON at LG HAWLEY at C and KONZ at RG. 3 PERFECT players AS LONG AS HAWLEY is Center of course

iDash
Nice find,I would love it,but TD is Friend's with Hawley mom and she likes GA since California Mexican population 12.9 million now and Americans are at 12.6 million!Go Democrats!Below-Hawley is from Cali. and he should be sent back there to help with the population problem there. JayOzOne
Two coaching staffs have proven to be utterly incompetent with regards to the center position. Smitty must have persuaded Quinn to abandon common sense and keep Hawley over Stone. Quinn sucks, just like Smitty! When is this team going to try to win?/purple

KRUNKuno
Hawley apologists are the worse.
antdaniels123
Hawley apologist are horrible. I seem to remeber Coach Quinn saying he wanted the 5 best Lineman out there so that can kind of explain why Hawley is still at center and stone is at Guard Stone is good T multiple positions and Hawley can only play center. autigerfan
I wouldn't mind it. Can he play Guard??He was a guard at University of Miami, but has been mostly a center at the NFL level. I would say he could handle it or they could shift Hawley to guard where he did a good job in 2011.

Basically he said TD is friends with Hawley's mom and is keeping Hawley here so she doesn't have to go back to California because of all the MexicansI personally think that deserves a ban or a warning

rcky_mtn_falcon
Yes, I've bumped this post from the garbage bin.At this point yes, sign Chris Meyers today. He played under Shanahan for 2 years in Houston so he should already be fairly familiar with the offense, just have to learn some verbiage. Let him sit the bench this week as we take on the 49ers and hopefully have him ready to roll after the bye week.Fact is neither Stone nor Person are ready to be starters in the NFL, and Gradkowski is so bad he can't beat either of them out. So bring in a guy that can actually play the position and see if we can't at least put a band aid on one of the offenses biggest issues. Mega Flare
At this point, I'd take Michael Myers.

rcky_mtn_falcon
He retiredDoesn't stop me from giving him a call. Several people have retired and come back afterward to help a team. We're 6-2 and minus turnovers could very well be 8-0. Having a competent center would certainly help us.It's not like he's getting off his couch for a 2-6 team and the previous relationship with Shanahan and knowledge of the scheme might help sway him.
