TheFalcoholic
Anybody know? I'm talking as cheap as humanly possible. Connecting flights, whatever. I am 1,000 miles away from home and looking for the cheapest airline(s) to fly with to see family for holidays. Anything y'all know about would be appreciated. WTA
Depends on where you're going. Airtran and Allegiant are a couple of the cheaper airlines but they have very limited cities that they service... Southwest is typically the cheapest of the "major" airlines. If you look around a bunch of different sites, make sure you either clear your cookies or browse in incognito mode when you actually go to purchase your tickets because the sites will increase the prices if they think you're shopping around or need an emergency flight or something. Sponge
I always use Southwest
pzummo
Fedex. Make sure you have decent ventilation in the box. Same day shipping if possible. If you find someone flying to your hometown, you could try to go as checked luggage. But make sure you have extra padding around you and oxygen. It will cost under $100 if you're fairly light. Flip Flop
This used to work. Go to the airport and ask for a flight leaving now. If they have available seats, offer them the lowest amount you think is possible. Sometimes they accept. Sometimes they do not. It is the principle of prices and the extreme short term at work. Shuswap
I fly alot for work. Try flying mid week , prices always go up friday-monday. Book way ahead of your scheduled departure date.( I always leave with limited notice and it costs me a arm and a leg.)

Flip Flop
Sometimes flights out of Birmingham are much cheaper than ones out of ATL. You can even catch a shuttle from Hartsfield to Birmingham. Back when I did this the shuttle was $40, so if the price of the flight is good enough it may be worth it.
Flip Wilson
Book early as possible and travel at 1:00 to 3:00 AM.
