jdawg4876
1. The o line- I see a lot of complaining but I thought the o line looked a LOT better than I expected, all the units gave excellent pass protection, the one sack was completely on yates. my biggest concern is all the bad snaps that have been going on in game and in practice. I will talk about run blocking soon......2. I was shocked in general how much we threw the ball, not just with ryan but with all qbs. I thought we would run the ball even more.3. Julio Jones- he looked like a man among boys out there, he had their defense shaking.4. LEVINE TOILOLO- I have been the driver and basically his only passenger on his fan bus. Dude showed out and once again is one of the best blockers we got o line or not, on the couple of good run plays he sprung the run. He had a couple of good catches and the biggest surprise to me is he now actually has a little bit of speed.5. The starting front seven- Even though it was only 2 series the starting front 7 on defense looked real good. If KOG is a running back snob I am a lb snob, and last yr I thought we had the worst unit in the league, and I wasnt sure that they would be all that great this yr, but they might prove me wrong. Bartu still looks really bad though.6. Jalen Collins- Got beat like a drum yes, but its not from a lack of skill, he also flashed a couple of times and was not afraid to take on a rb. he is a project but a project that I think will pan out.7 Hardy- Hardy is looking real good so far. he had one bad play.8. Tj Yates- is HORRIBLE. does not even look like a qb, he seems shook. I hate the way he throws the ball and he is just god awful, dude almost got hardy's head taken off. Told yall boys how bad he was from my first camp observation. I am not saying sean is the answer but at least he looked like a qb9. fringe Players that flashed to me- Tyler star, wow I thought this guy would never amount to anything, but he played well. I could see him being a core special teamer and some decent depth. If tyler looked descent than Allen Bradford looked like a guy that could truly start I loved his play. Kevin white looked like a cb out there, really liked what I saw.10. Special Teams- Speaking of special teams wow once again we have a great unit in the making, from bosher to bryant to the coverage we are flying and hitting.11. Run blocking- Told yall I would get to it, It was not great but here is an encouraging sign to me at least. when we needed to get a first down we did. when we needed to punch the ball into the endzone we did, thats better than last yr, its also bc the rbs could not break tackles. I think Jerome smith looked a lot better than ford. Overall I was I actually shocked we ran the ball as well as we did. thats how low my expectations wereIm sure I will think of more and I plan on watching most of the game again. jdawg4876
ps the offensive line has a long way to go but I was expecting a 3/10 and they gave me a 6/10 which is a lot better than I thought, maybe they can figure it out by the start of the season........... MAYBE LOL
JDaveG
I agree on Smith vs Ford. Other than Tone, Jerome Smith was my favorite RB. He was the only one who looked hard to tackle.

Tribal Chief
Collins is actually gonna be a joy to watch. Much like alford he is gonna definitely have his share of ups and downs. Interested in seeing which he has more of.

blizzard_falcon
idk since we really didnt see hawley much at all last night only one series I believe lolYeah, a lot of posters are confusing Person's performance at Center for Hawley.I hope we see Stone or Valerian at Center more next week. Person looked pretty awful there (but was decent at LG).
BeRom
Completely agree with each of jdawg4876 points. First string on each side of the ball could have embarrassed Titans if this were a season game. The OL play was a ? mark going in but a LOT of guys were used in different combinations through out . Coaches will identify the "best" fits in the system for this season and the rest will be easy cuts.
jdawg4876
12. I forgot to put this in there but on defense our tackling was outstanding very few missed tackles. the biggest offender was sean baker at safety he missed at least

Atlfanstckndenver
Good write up Josh. One note I wanted to make is that I thought Yates got a raw deal on that sack, mostly because his outlet receiver got bumped to the ground right when Yates started looking his way. T-peg
Good write up. I would say the O-line's job tonight was to work on pass protecting in the new scheme. If you have a QB in it's prime that has been destroyed for the best two years, you want to protect it. I bet you the run game starts improving over the course of the preseason. Hardy really did look good from what I could see in my seats. If I remember right, hardy had to dive slightly for that ball that popped up. Now I know he still should have had it, but when Yates was doing as bad as he was? Tyler Star was everywhere when he was in the game. I was stunned to see all the plays he made. He looks to add some depth at this point.

It's the 'j'. I apologize and will change it.Also, even despite that sack play, yes, Yates needs to go. JRid
Good write up, thanks. I had quite a buzz so maybe I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure I saw Hawley playing center with the second team some too. Also, it's weird how no reporter, fan, etc has mentioned Konz has been playing center at camp, but then there he was playing center last night. Strange how that got missed. I thought Ford and J. Smith were both thoroughly unimpressive at running back, but as I mentioned I had a buzz so I'm willing to give them another chance.

Deep2Julio
Going back and watching the Titans first and second drives, Beasley was double teamed on a lot of those plays. I'm surprised that they're giving him that much respect this early on. Hageman was getting some impressive push as well. I can't wait to see what this front 7 can do.
