Maltese Falcon
Many NFL insiders were already penciling in Bowles as the top candidate for the Falcons earlier. And sure, it's still training camp and the first preseason game, but the way Todd Bowles HC transition has gotten off, I wouldn't be betting the farm that he's some sort of genius HC in the making. His quiet demeanor with his players, his quick and flippant comments about the Geno Smith situation, and his public admittance that the Lions killed the Jets last night.......I just don't know if he's up to the task. Especially in NY and with a team like the Jets.
Guest King Jigsaw
Yeah, there's just too much going on in NY. Your starting QB, who's laughable already, gets his jaw broken by a teammate that then follows your old HC to his new team and was probably greeted like a hero. You've got the whole Sheldon Richardson thing going on. That defense has a lot of money put into it and the offense is a bunch of question marks - Geno, Fitz, Marshall, Decker, Ivory.. None of those names are really striking fear right now. Could be too much to handle for Bowles. On the flip side, I think ATL was the prime landing spot for a new coach because of the pre-existing pieces (Ryan, Julio, Jake, Trufant) and we just needed some good coaching. Quinn probably wouldn't look as good as he does now if he were in green. Edited August 14, 2015 by King Jigsaw
Guest Negatorris
Bowles jumped into the fire. He should have made a safer choice but I understand the impulse to get that HC position and fatter paycheck.

Falkonator
OMG some posters on here seriously just crack me up, bro he just coached his very first game as a HC,it was a preseason game.how bout let the man get through one season, let alone a TC before claiming he is going to fail or we dodged a bullet.I hope the posters who post stuff like this don't go on in life with the same mentality. Godzilla1985
I don't think we dodged any bullet because I believe Quinn was their choice after the 1st interview. Edited August 14, 2015 by Godzilla1985
DoYouSeeWhatHappensLarry
Bowles will be fine. The Jets dysfunction predates Bowles by decades....even if things fall apart there, it pry won't be his fault.
Maltese Falcon
I'm not so sure that we dodged a bullet when we (FO) knew that they wanted DQ all the while.True dat. Bowles to ATL could have simply been put out there as smoke and mirrors.

Everyone was embarrassed when Rex "chose" the Bills over us, in actuality he would have rather been guaranteed a job then wait it out and risk being left with the bag. We had our pick, which makes me feel even better about Quinn.

Guest facelessman07
I think he still has potential (it's only been ONE preseason game) but it's funny how many posters wanted him, as evidenced by their avatars, and then once he was gone Quinn suddenly became their "#1 choice from the beginning."Hilarious
putnam6
Bowles in New York Jets dumpster fire does not equal the Atlanta Falcon situation.Too many variablesThe media attention alone make New York a pain in the ***
Falcons_Frenzy
Bowles is going to need a franchise QB to have sustained success. All the Jets did was trade one defensive minded coach for another. Bowles inherited all the same problems that already existed there.
paulitik
Bowles is a great coach. He just inherited a dumpster fire. It will take him 3 years to sort it out, he'll get fired, then be a successful HC coach somewhere else.

This is what comes of believing everything generated by a PR department..

Duff_Man
He probably came to the realization that he took a job for one of the worst franchises in sports. New York barely cares about that team. They're just a punchline for the New York Post to make silly headlines.
