Randy Gregory...

Rave

Recommended Posts

Holy crap Rave... I just went and looked at it...it was a minute away from the 4th quarter in a preseason game, and the QB was pressured from the outside and ran up into the his arms. Give me a friggin break, you are the neediest, most narcissistic cowboy fan I have ever seen. I thought for sure the only way you would be coming in here, bragging about a preseason sack would have been against first teamers, not backups of the backups..Sheesh...

This is exactly what I expected from someone like you. All I was saying is he is effective at 240. Some we're doubting him. Regardless of the situation he wasn't blown off the ball and shown to be too light to play the position. He held his ground and made the play.

Dude...he was playing against similar level talent that he saw while at Nebraska. Let's get a larger sample size before we declare him able to play at "240" in the NFL. Getting a sack against guys that probably won't be on the team in two weeks isn't proof of anything yet. I'm not saying he won't be a good NFL player, but let's slow our roll on making definitive statements based off of preseason games almost in the 4th quarter, especially the first game.

Here is the sack. Several things:

1. It was 3rd and 15...the conditions are ultra ripe for a sack.

2. He came on a stunt...started on the outside and came on the inside. He had good leverage and push on the inside. That being said, the qb was forced into his arms because of pressure in all other lanes. He really didn't have to do much except wrap his arms around the qb that ran into him.

3. None of this sack shows what everyone was talking about, which is can he power rush from the outside, or will speed be his only game. Stunts on the inside have inherent advantage to the rusher because the guard was already set against another player and his leverage/power is flowing in another direction.

It's great he got a sack, but it wasn't a definitive sack against true NFL talent, and it wasn't even a sack a defensive end normally gets/wasn't generated by what Randy was doing. He might end up being a good outside rusher, but this sack is not indicative of anything. Let's see him do it on the outside, against first stringers and then we may have something.

Haters....well see how Beasley is treated by the same fans tonight...

That's your reply? Haters? Really??

You're slipping Rave. If Beasley doesn't get a sack tonight, it means less than nothing(especially seeing as how he will be going up against first stringers). So far, he has been everything that was advertised.

You know, i don't have anything against Gregory, and hindsight being what it is, we may in fact regret not double dipping in the 2nd round in the defensive end pool. That being said, there was no way we were going to take Gregory over Beasley. So it's not even really a fair comparison. Dallas took a flyer out when most translated on him twice. Good for them, they can afford to take chances in players. We can't.

ehhh , I want to see more of Boys with Romo in there, last night, they looked slow and sloppy , nothing like what we saw last yr outa Boys, just the 1st preseason game, so they deserve a pass, but yea, they better start looking better fast if they want to repeat the run they made last yr....

just IMO

Does it matter at all to you rave that the cowboys lost? (Fwiw I think the outcome of preseason games is meaningless). But to you does the outcome matter? Why or why not?

Not at all, Dallas was 0-4 in preseason last year.

I look at situations and player performance, not the score.

I was very careful to choose my words so that you would get that I was talking about giving Beasley the homer treatment and not comparing he and Gregory.

I failed again to see just how lacking your reading comprehension is.

I will try this again.

If, Falcons fans brag about Beasley's performance tonight (in any way) I will reference the disregard for Gregory's. Since, none of it matters. Remember.

The fact that all Ive heard in regards to Gregory is that hes too small, and the fact that he got a sack in his first preseason game, is a positive thing. If you cant see that and would instead rather make this into some kind of a pissing contest, then that is on you. I in no way meant this as a crowning achievement thread for Gregory. I intended it to be more of a "step in the right direction" thread.

So, you can stop feeling threatened now.

He made a good push on the inside but it was a look what I found sack as the QB was forced up into the pocket. Way to early to tell what the boys have in him. Just the same a sack may help him build some confidence which is not a bad thing. For that reason I'm hoping Beasley gets one tonight!

Exactly, he made a good push, which is a good sign as an "undersized DE".

As far as confidence, he and Byron Jones both said they would calm all game long. So I dont think either is lacking in confidence, which is great for the Cowboys.

Beasley was doubled for much of his time which opened up pressure for the rest of the guys, still got pressure and said pressure led to an interception.

All against first stringers and not 3rd/4th stringers.

But it's all preseason. Just funny he is getting doubled already, in games that are not supposed to be game planned.

1. you said what you said to antagonize Falcons fans. Stop acting innocent, you know exactly what you were doing.

2. You failed at choosing the correct words. This should not be news to you.

3. Everything you say is a p!ssing contest.

4. You don't have the ability to make me feel threatened, nor will you ever. You are too weak, mentally and emotionally.

Why would I brag about preseason stats?

Your paranoia is getting the best of you.

Because you are by far the biggest homer across two boards, worse than JB, worse than any of the saints fans, worse than Wake and Reese. All you do is start sh1t and try to rub in our face how great your team is and how much ours sucks. anyone with half a brain can see your bs. You started this thread to talk to sh1t to Falcons fans. Be a man for once in your life and just admit it, I'd have more respect for you than just the fecal matter I think you are....
