AndySG
£13 million a year. Doubt Julio will command THAT much more.

ki46dinah
This has nothing to do with julio contract, the market has already been set.TY is good, very good...but I doubt many in the league currently see him as Dez/Julio good. Not saying his career cant be/wont be better...but that is a surprising contract for him. texasfalconfan
i really dont see why we don't just match dez's deal. dez has proven to be an elite receiver like Julio, he has set the bar we need to do a deal now. if not he will command more next season, forcing us into a jimmy graham issue where we franchise him, and end up losing his loyalty, or overpaying him. Im just saying the market was already set with thomas and dez signing their contracts.. Julio might not try and break the bank tho, ryan took less, so did white. FentayeJones
I am willing to bet that the framework for Julio's deal is in place and they are probably negotiating the guranteed portion and other minor things. The wide receiver market is pretty much set.

The wide receiver market is pretty much set.agreed. This should be an easy negotiation. 5yrs, $70mm with $40-45mm guaranteed. That is what Dez and Bey-Bey got with better overall production numbers. shockerfalcon
Honestly with his injury history I'd be surprised if JJ got Dez money. Somewhere between Dez and Hilton would be fair
g-dawg
Julio deserves that if not more.more than who?more than TY? YESmore than Dez/Bey-Bey? NOsame as Dez/Bey-Bey? I would be fine w/ that but numbers say he should make slightly less than those two.
HEIST
Ian Rapoport @RapSheet 1m1 minute agoNo word on Julio Jones’ contract. But GM Thomas Dimitroff tells me it’s the most “professional & team cognizant contract approach he’s seen”
Dirtybird56
I think julio will get slightly more than Dez /DT. 5 years/73mil with 43 guaranteed

WTF?is he saying that Julio and agent are trying to help the Falcons create cap room and what the Falcons want out of the deal? or just Julio is not being a diva and working hard and not complaining? the wonderboy has a hard time just saying what he wants to say in a coherent manner. g-dawg
Just the way it's gonna go IMO. Think Green will get more tooDez Bryant has 41 TDs over his last 48 games played (13.66/season*)Julio has 26 TDs over his entire 49 game career (8.49/season*)*season = 16 games over the same period, Julio has averaged 6.38yds more/game in reception yardage (102yds more over 16 game season). I believe most people would agree that they would rather have their #1 WR score 5 more TDs/season than an additional 102yds/season.

I understood that easily.Locker room value IS value.what does the TD statement mean? I gave two interpretations I thought it might mean but it is somewhat unclear - what is your interpretation.I would pay the same contract to Julio as Dez - in spite of Dez having better overall numbers - for the reason you state - Julio is just a better overall teammate and leader - so we would be paying Julio a slight premium because of his off-field value and leadership example.I just don't think Julio should get MORE than Dez. Though I do believe Julio is the best. Also when Falcons got to redzone = immediate double team of julio with safety taking away the outside. When Cowboys got to redzone = more 1 on 1's for Dez due to cowboys running game
