xSICKxWITHxITx
Free agent OT Sam Baker is unlikely to play another snap in the NFL.According to Baker's father, Sam "probably just concluded his career" because of injuries. The 21st overall pick in the 2008 draft has always battled injuries and missed all of last season with a torn patellar tendon. In total, Baker missed 42 games in his seven-year career. He was released by the Falcons in June.Source: FOX Sports Aug 11 - 9:55 PM
Osiruz
I heard he started a computer security firm. They haven't taken off yet, because their ad blocker allows everything through.
Yep
Looks like it's time for TD to make a move. TD loves some old injured FAs and TD loves him some Baker.
hjerry
Wish him the best of luck. I thought that it was time to move on, but supported him most of his time here. It's always sad to see a player taken out by injuries.

I don't think it was a coincidence that the 2 years he played all 16 games we went 13-3 each season. Wish he could have stayed healthier, but it's a tough sport. Yngwie Malmsteen
I liked Baker. Really felt for him on Hard Knocks when he was sitting by himself on the trainers table after his injury. He looked devastated.
AndySG
Did he not know that 11 months ago?Not that I can blame him, thinking about it.
bigbabygrady
42 games missed in 7 seasons, 28 of those being in the past 2 seasons. His contract extension gave him $18.25 million guaranteed and he only played 4 games, so he made more than $4.5 million per game
Geneaut
TD and 1st round lineman picks go together as well as oil and water. Baker, Konz, Jerry, etc..... just plain pathetic. How this guys is still employed no one knows. Konz was a 2nd.
JOEinPHX
I can't fault Baker for any of his misfortunes in Atlanta. And I can't fault a guy for riding off into the sunset with a wheelbarrow full of cash even if one feels he didn't truly earn it.But I could certainly fault somebody.. kiwifalcon
2012 and his rookie year seemedto be Sam's best.Him and Blalock were probably our best lineman in our SB run 2012.Good luck to the man going foward.

slamee101
I mentioned when Blalock retired that it was kind of crazy but I saw the same coming for Sam Baker. Has to be kind of nuts that his last real game played was early in 2013 and I know there was no way he saw it playing out as it did back then. Just never know. weezy01212
Dumb question - Do we still eat the dead money because we released him or does that go away because he retired?
