rugger8
DE== Clayborn, Goodman, Hageman, Jackson, Matthews, MeredithOLB===Beasley, Bierman, Durant, Maponga, Reed, SchofieldLB === Akunne, Anyama, Bartu, Bradford, Spriull, Starr, Stupar, Warrilow Earlier this spring, I remember Goodman being mentioned as a possibility to work into the strong-side OLB role. He was losing weight to make that happen. Can anyone tell me where he's been lining up in camp?I'm interested to see how he's used by the new staff. The SLB drops into coverage far too often for Goodman to be a fit there. But he was talked about dropping weight to the 265 pound range in order to be an edge rusher in passing situations, and a LEO in base defense. There has been very little talk about him in camp so far, so I'd guess that doesn't bode well for his future here; especially since he, Maponga, and Starr are probably battling for one roster spot and both Maponga and Starr have been talked about positively lately. Obviously the rest of camp and the preseason games will determine the final outcome so it's not too late - but he's got to start doing something soon. I definitely remember him being talked about as a SLB candidate, but it might not have been 'official' channels- could have just been someone speculating on the MB.Obviously, I want the best players to make the team, but he's such an intriguing player to me- I really want to see what he can contribute if his talents are used correctly. delaigle
nopeThere isn't enough designations. There's a difference between a LB and pass rushing LB.my post was just listing their position locations from the AF.com roster. The newly released depth chart has it all different I find it funny that the ROSTER NEVER agrees with the depth charts My point was not so much WHERE as How many---there's going to be a lot of unexpected cuts 4 weeks from now theyt can't keep but about 10 or 11 of those on my list of 20say 15 front (DL + LBs) then 10 DBSthen 4/5 DTs leaves only 11/10 for the DEs and all LB positions they have 20 competing for those 10 slots which 10 would you keep??? Flying Falcon
How is he taking bad angles yet still leads the team in tackles 2 years in a row?Try again.Meaningless stats on a 4 win team when EVERY offense we faced was able to run on us and pass down the middle. Flying Falcon
So I see that Worrilow has to prove ALL yall wrong yet again when he starts getting dragged all over the field. I'm sure he's up to the task, cause you all can keep blaming his slow reactions and out of positions on the old coaches till the cows return from jumping over the moon. Not ALL out of position players are the coaches fault. Some players just don't know how to read the plays during "realtime" football. Some players just step with the wrong foot, going the wrong way so their bodies are positioned wrong. He's just happened to be one of those players and he's been in the league for "how" long now?

I mean, it's kinda what you do. My point was just meant to clarify how Beasely had no place in a conversation about non pass rushing LBs. I was just trying to keep things less confusing. Flying Falcon
Reading comprehension is A+ and Reading interpretation is A++. That means I can read "well" between the lines when others can't read beyond their nose.

PokerSteve
If you think about it, what we brought in during the offseason to help an otherwise miscast LB corps, is nothing short of amazing. Now we will utilize the ones we had better, and have so much more diversity and flexibility with the new LBs here, it should be a solid, versitile group this year. We've gone from what I would rate a D- last year, to a solid B this year.Agree. This D is already way better than any group put together by Smith and TD. By mid-season the much-maligned Falcon D will have progressed from liability to respectability and will just keep getting better every game. Solid B this year, solid A level next year. Moist Words
Reading comprehension is A+ and Reading interpretation is A++. Do those not count? Here's the crazy thing about reading interpretation....It can be easily influenced if you read something with an obvious bias. I could care less who is the starting MLB as long as it's the best player. With that out of the way this article doesn't say what you think it does at all. The other dozen articles where Quinn praises Worrilow say a lot more to those who aren't biased.
Vandy
Agree. This D is already way better than any group put together by Smith and TD. By mid-season the much-maligned Falcon D will have progressed from liability to respectability and will just keep getting better every game. Solid B this year, solid A level next year. Depends on health of certain players with history of injuries.....Clayborn, Moore, Durant are key players counted on who need to stay on the field for that to happen.
