Dirtybird56
Ok so I've been at camp Saturday (no pads), Monday (pads) & today (pads). It's very early in camp so the overall product doesn't matter as much as the individual results. Take everything this early with a grain of salt. Some things have confirmed what we expected, some things have surprised me. Here's what I've seen:1) Hardy has great hands and is running surprisingly good routes for a rook. Only ball I've seen him drop was a diving attempt in the endzone on a 35-40 yard pass2) Tamme gives us a threat at TE which we haven't had since Tony. But Tamme can actually bust down the seam, something we really haven't had in a while. He had a nice 25 yard grab for a TD running down the seam today3) Beasley's first step is incredible. Hard to get any more of a read on him as I haven't been able to see him as much4) Hankerson looks great. Big body target and he's been snagging everything out of the air. Can he stay healthy though5) Today was the first day I saw something resembling our starting OLine for the season in 11 on 11 drills. Hawley and Schraeder were finally out there. Matthews-Chester-Hawley-Stone-Schraeder was the line. Asamoah had an upset stomach so he sat out. The starting unit only had maybe 10 snaps total but they looked good in pass protection.. Hard to get a read for run blocking as you really need film to go through and judge guys individually 6) Our Oline depth at tackle is non existent. Polumbus is awful and Rodgers the rookie has already surpassed him, but that isn't exactly a feat in itself. Just have to hope Matthews and Schraeder stay healthy or Rodgers develops well and real quick. Interior depth is OK with Stone, could survive an injury there. 7) Tru is incredible. Alford has played well on the outside so far.. Lined up against Julio and had nice break up on a fade 8) I've only gotten to see Collins line up against the backup receivers so far but he maintains good position.. He really doesn't get beat deep just like in college9) Hageman is a monster. Got to judge a few 11 on 11 snaps for him and he was blowing his man up.. One running play he stood Stone up at the snap and drove him 5 yards in the backfield into the RB10) Something that surprised me and now concerns me a little is Ryan rolling out left on the PA bootleg. I've watched him closely at camp and I've only seen him do it 3 times and each time he plants his foot to start to turn (left) around he stumbles a bit and it gives the defender that extra second and he's in Ryan's face by the time Ryan's ready to throw. It's typical to have the defender closing in on the QB but Ryan tripping is giving the defender the time to where he'd sack Matt if it wasn't training camp. Hopefully Ryan works on it, wouldn't take too long to correct. He looks great otherwise throwing on the run 11) Toilolo actually looks like a competent NFL TE12) Freeman was tailor made for this scheme. He continues to show patience then hit the hole FAST during 11 on 11's
Upstate NY Falcon
Thanks for the observations! Always great to hear from people who have been at camp. Have you seen any of Ricardo Allen? Would be interested to hear a fan perspective of how he's looked in 11 on
papachaz
Meh, Hardy has looked like complete garbage. He better have it fixed by next season. Roddy is on his last legs. We desperately. need him and Hankerson to pan out.and your 3rd whole post (in this name anyway) contradicts most of what EVERYONE else is saying.........so we should believe you instead, right? papachaz
I never asked for you nor anyone to believe me. Not sure what your problem is. Chill out Felicia.when name yourself "anythingsavant" and you post on a message board, 9.9 times out of 10, you're expecting/hoping/dreaming someone will agree with you. Everyone else, including his coaches, Matt, Roddy, and Julio, are singing praises about hardy and how hard he works, how good his pass catching ability is, and how quickly he seems to be learning. Yet you come on here and say things like 'he's hot garbage'so, nancy, as you made that as a statement you expect people to read and believe, you should go troll somewhere else. I'd bet you don't last long here anyway

Dirtybird56
There's a couple things to add. Beasley was lined up on the left side against the RT a lot today so that's why I didn't see him as much. Monday he was in the backfield a lot. Beating the offensive tackles inside on run plays including Matthews. On passing downs he was getting pressure consistently too except when he faced Matthews I would give the upper hand to Jake (who looks fine coming off that lisfranc - thank god)Lots of different Oline combinations throughout as guys like Hawley and Schraeder had limited reps and Asamoah got sick. Today was also filled with a lot of dumb mistakes like penalties and center-qb exchange fumbles. Number 6 any comments on the 2 new guys Love and Burton?//I didn't see those 2, only picked out Love once when he got beat bad. Jared Smith has looked poorThe Oline is going through a transition though. Understandable they're going to go through growing pains Edited August 5, 2015 by Dirtybird56

papachaz
Surely this can't be true. I need R_the_Great someone to tell me it never happened..in reference to this and in stone's defense, it was reported that hagemen was pretty much blowing up whomever was in front of him on a regular basis. This is good to know

Bobby.Digital
Man so nice to actually have some nice young talent on that DLine. Beasley and Hageman are going to be a nice tandem going foward.

JayOzOne
Splitting time between trainer's table and snack bar. So, when Quinn said he wanted Konz to be a game changer, Konz got hungry and bought one?
