Nino11
Maybe I am thinking like a homer as I believe the Falcons can win the Bowl every year but does this year feel different? Even in the the prime of Smitty's year I havnt felt this good about a team. The 08 team was magical as it was unexpected and yes the two 13-3 teams felt good at the time but I don't remember an off-season generating this much positivity in my whole fanhood. Granted a lot of factors are relatively unknown but the same can be said about every team every year. Is this just the normal off-season hype being amplified by a new coaching staff or is this something more? I mean I'm even excited about what a possible 3rd string TE May be able to do this season. The season can't start soon enough. From waiting out to get our HC, to signing some bargain bin albeit not flashy free agents, to the perceived homerun draft class and expected improvements from players like Freeman, Shede, Alford, and Ricardo Allen I'm on pins and needles

Bobby.Digital
Doubt this team is a legit contender this year. Next year I think is the year.

Nino11
Way way wayyy too soonI'm assuming a lot of things go perfect which almost never happens but I always felt like we were never far off from being real contenders. An at least middle of the road defense and Oline And I think Matt Ryan goes crazy in the playoffs. He has never had both in one season in my opinion

I'm tryna curb my expectations a bit but it doesn't help all the rave reviews Quinn and Co. Have been receiving

He has never had both in one season in my opinionthere are still a few more legit contenders in the nfc that the falcons would have to go through and its even to soon to say they woukd best those teams because you certainly cant go off of past seasons. We dont even know how this team will perform yet. We are just hoping for positive results. Just think super bowl shouldn't even be discussed right now. Need to start with a winning season and playoff birth first

Need to start with a winning season and playoff birth firstAs we saw with our on team a hood season last season doesn't automatically qualify you as a contender next season. While I don't see teams like the Packers and Seahawks imploding the way we did there can be arguments made that some previous contenders regressed. Positive steps forward can be celebrated but I think it's time we start expecting Superbowl or bust for our teams. The whole "process" thing is burnt out on me as I bought into it. Not saying we have to come out undefeated for me to be happy but just going to the playoffs isn't good enough for me any more. Where starting to eat into Matt Ryan and Julios prime years
Nino11
He had both in 2010 and 2012.Very debatable. While the ground game was better then it is now it trended downward since 08. By time 2012 came Clabo fell off the cliff and I believe Dahl was gone. Oline also looked a lot better to Ryan getting rid of the ball quickly. That is a very underrated part of his game to me. I also believe the rankings of those defenses were heavily influenced by the ball control offenses we had. 2012 were pretty opportunistic with turning overs but I feel like that was mainly to the Amobe gimmick. Our defense wilted badly in the playoffs both time showing their true colors when it mattered most. Same could be said for our offense as well but I think the defense was definitely the weaker of the two
likeriver
Way way wayyy too soonI disagree. I believe we're poised for a good year. And once we make the playoffs it's anyone's guess who will win it all.I hope that under Quinn we become one of those teams that gets better in the playoffs, not worse (see: Bengals) Edited August 3, 2015 by likeriver

Atlfanstckndenver
He had both in 2010 and 2012.That's not just a black and white story though either. Possession time, quick releases, game planning, etc etc etc. It's very possible to make units look better than they really are, as well as hide weaknesses. Statistically speaking of course, and on tape even. You know this. Edited August 3, 2015 by Atlfanstckndenver
