GleasonForever!
@mortreport: Jake Long is in Atlanta for physical and a workout with @AtlantaFalcons. He's a free agent after 2nd ACL surgery with Rams in 2014@AdamSchefter: Former No. 1 overall pick Jake Long is set to work out for the Atlanta Falcons this afternoon, per @mortreport.@vxmcclure23: We will see if Jake Long checks out physically with the Falcons today. Jake Matthews (Lisfranc) coming off injury@mortreport: If Long is signed by Falcons, Dolphins' former No. 1 pick in 2008 would be protecting blind side of Matt Ryan, the No. 3 pick in same draft Edited July 28, 2015 by GleasonForever! Lornoth
Now this I would love, if he's healthy. He would be the perfect stop-gap for a year or two until we can find someone to play opposite our own Jake long-term. He probably won't be expensive after all the injuries either. Jimsmusic™
so we get the 2 of the top 3 guys from 2008 eh
Pacific_Falcon
No likes from Lamar Holmes on this post? Not a bad move, he's decent when healthy so if he can fill in a little bit if someone else gets dinged up, great. Can't hurt in the "let's kick the tires on this" sense. g-dawg
well what this tells me is Falcons are not confident about what they have at offensive tackle. just hope it has more to do w/ Schaeder, Holmes and Polumbus and less to do w/ Jake Matthews. Tyler Polumbus didn't impress while playing both sides
likeriver
How has he played when healthy?Well he's been to like 5 pro bowls according to wikipedia. But these last couple years he's been injured so it's a gamble. If he can stay healthy he could be fierce.

The main reason for this move, is that they don't have a clear timetable on Holmes' return.

FentayeJones
I doubt very seriously if Long is being brought in to start at either tackle position. It seems to me that he will be the back up to Schraeder and Jake at either of the tackle positions - which wouldn't be a bad thing due to his health. HOYLE
This is one of the most hyped Offensive Tackles to come out in thelast decade. He is sitting out there available due to injury. Two of our own guysare probably just as injured as him. Just doing due diligence.
Knight of God
Nah, if he's healthy...he'll start. I mean, who do you really think is going to beat him out?
Kurtzyy
I would welcome the signing because after Matthews/Schraeder, the depth is shaky. What is the harm in giving Long a short-term deal with incentives? The offensive line could use some more bodies and who knows, maybe this signing could turn into something more than a depth signing
