Intriguing NFC South team for '15: #Falcons. Emphasized mid-level UFA signings to strengthen middle of roster; strong scheme specific draft.

@LRiddickESPN I really think Brooks Reed is a sleeper signing for them. In that scheme he could be a star.

#Saints going to look all kinds of different over the next 2-3 years. #poorcapmanagement

I liked the approach even tho i think Greg Hardy would have fit the scheme perfectly... We will see how coach Q, TD , and Pioli approach work but i feel like we have a stronger roster (still a work in progress) ... We could have signed a star DE but we would have had subpar LB play and only one D ... We decided to help build the roster ... Once you have a solid roster you can add in that homerun hitter (big time pass rusher if needed).

Lets see what happens

i agree, upgrade the overall talent instead of having a top pass rusher on a very bad defense. Our linebackers have been horrible for 2 or 3 years

Good points. Sure looks like they are going about this the right way, a 2-3 year plan rather than a quick fix.

I said the exact same thing on here about Brooks Reed when we got him.. I still think he is very underrated. He was one of my favorite pick ups in FAcy.

I liked Brooks Reed coming out of college as a 2nd round prospect for Falcons - glad we got him. He is not a superstar but will be a vital cog in our defense.

I was one of the ones who was really rooting for us to draft him when he came out of college. Looks like I got my wish a little later on. That being said, I still think Durant is still the best FA pickup we made this offseason.

Kinda crazy even on a longer plan path (and I agree, it's a longer plan), they seem much better on paper than last year. Much stronger playing class.

LB's will be a huge key this year. I think P.War will be a surprise player considering the other two linebackers are greatly improved.

What makes it even more exciting is we drafted what could be a hone run hitter in Vic. We've added to the core, now lets see how far Vic, Hageman, and Allen will take us.

Solid improvement over the course of the year by those three could be hue if we get in.

If you guys actually watch tape on Reed instead of blindly accepting anyone's opinion on him, you might know that he is an actual terror for a defense.

Which makes me glad we won the bidding war for his services, with a contract that dwarfs Suh's.

Wait--- what?

Hope he is right about the Reed signing because his HOU highlight they show has Reed looking like 254 pd range which he needs to be at SLB. At camp he looked around 264 with most of that hanging off his gut. Maybe even 250, he needs to be svelt like a gazelle.

Reed had a little off time during pre-season with his groin injury, but he is now cut at 260+. At the combine he was 263. I've heard he is doing sets of 4 squats with 500 Lbs. He has power cleaned 425. He'll be a threat!
