In that scheme he could be a star.sidenote:Louis Riddick @LRiddickESPN 3h3 hours ago#Saints going to look all kinds of different over the next 2-3 years. #poorcapmanagement
Sheldon Cooper
Hope he is right about the Reed signing because his HOU highlight they show has Reed looking like 254 pd range which he needs to be at SLB. At camp he looked around 264 with most of that hanging off his gut. Maybe even 250, he needs to be svelt like a gazelle.
atljbo
I liked the approach even tho i think Greg Hardy would have fit the scheme perfectly... We will see how coach Q, TD , and Pioli approach work but i feel like we have a stronger roster (still a work in progress) ... We could have signed a star DE but we would have had subpar LB play and only one D ... We decided to help build the roster ... Once you have a solid roster you can add in that homerun hitter (big time pass rusher if needed).Lets see what happens
g-dawg
I really respect Louis Riddick and value his opinion - nice to hear his positive takes on Falcons/Brooks Reed.
ryanadonis
If you guys actually watch tape on Reed instead of blindly accepting anyone's opinion on him, you might know that he is an actual terror for a defense.

Our linebackers have been horrible for 2 or 3 years
Dirtybird56
Been saying Reed back at SLB is trouble. Durant is going to be a monster at WLB tooTwo guys that fit the roles to a T for the 43 under

Sure looks like they are going about this the right way, a 2-3 year plan rather than a quick fix.

He actually is a better pass rusher than conventional wisdom thinks.
Draftnut57
I said the exact same thing on here about Brooks Reed when we got him.. I still think he is very underrated. He was one of my favorite pick ups in FAcy.

He is not a superstar but will be a vital cog in our defense.

That being said, I still think Durant is still the best FA pickup we made this offseason.
JayOzOne
I'm geeked on Reed for his attributes and also because he was genuinely excited to come here. That tells me that he'll be a team guy and that he thinks this staff knows how to use him.
T-peg
Good points. Sure looks like they are going about this the right way, a 2-3 year plan rather than a quick fix. Kinda crazy even on a longer plan path (and I agree, it's a longer plan), they seem much better on paper than last year. Much stronger playing class.LB's will be a huge key this year. I think P.War will be a surprise player considering the other two linebackers are greatly improved.

What makes it even more exciting is we drafted what could be a hone run hitter in Vic. We've added to the core, now lets see how far Vic, Hageman, and Allen will take us.Solid improvement over the course of the year by those three could be hue if we get in. Which makes me glad we won the bidding war for his services, with a contract that dwarfs Suh's.Wait--- what?

I've heard he is doing sets of 4 squats with 500 Lbs. He has power cleaned 425. He'll be a threat!
