Over the past few seasons, Matt Bryant and Matt Bosher have been nothing short of solid for the Falcons. When compared to the work of their peers, their success becomes all the more impressive.

Falcons kicker Matt Bryanticon-article-link.gif and punter Matt Bosher are widely considered two of the best players at their respective positions. Now, thanks to numbers compiled by Pro Football Focus, we can put their latest campaign into a new perspective.

Bryant, who re-signed with Atlanta in February, continued to be a reliable asset in 2014, making 29 of 32 field goals — including eight of eight from 40 to 49 yards. All three of his misses came from 40-plus yards; in total, he made 90.6 percent of FG attempts, good for fourth among NFL qualifiers.

Bosher, 27, also ranked fourth at his position last year, according to PFF’s grading system. There are various reasons why he finished so high, one being his impressive hang time: The Greenacres, Fla., native finished with the best hang time on open field punts (4.80 seconds) and coffin punts (4.67).

Thanks to Bryant and Bosher, along with the rest of Keith Armstrong’s unit, Atlanta finished in the top 10 in special teams on PFF. Seventh, to be exact. And with most of those players returning — including Devin Hester, Eric Weems, Antone Smith and Cliff Matthewsicon-article-link.gif — the Falcons are poised to once again thrive on ST in 2015.

Remember when peeps said cut bosher after his putrid start lol. Glad he tightened up

That's why I literally laugh out loud when I see people want to cut guys in their first few years. People learn nothing from history.

As for the topic I'm glad to see the Matt's get some recognition, they've been the best kicker/punter combo ever since Lechler and Janikowskie split up.

LOL wasn't Bosher a TD draft pick.I thought TD could'nt hit the side of a barn after the 3rd round with picking players.

Seriously after a rough start Bosher has come on.I actually like that he isn't scared to tackle and puts his body on the line.Give me some Matt Bosher types on my team all day.

Bryant has been money for years love him on my team also.

Keith Armstrong love the dudes intensity still like the hard knocks episode where he rips Goody a new one.

I personally never had any concerns about bosher. I'm a U fan so I knew he wasn't as horrible as it seemed. I'm just glad he got it together when he did cause he was definitely gonna punt himself out of the league with the way he started. Some teams would probably have cut him and signed a vet
