brown bomber
I don't think he is all that. Maybe just average. He has the measurables but looks like he will need a lot of coaching. He looks timid and really not all that physical IMO. He reminds me of Michael Booker for the old school cats. If you don't know Booker then Google him. trubirdfan4life
Booker had no quick movements, too stiff to be a corner. Collins is a much better athlete. I dont really see the comparison as a player
Tuggle'2
Oddly enough the talk last night about Trufant and the type of CB he is made me want to go learn more about Mr. Collins. I came away pretty darn impressed myself. I guess sort of the opposite of how you feel.

I could see Collins busting hard or I could see him having a solid impact. I don't see Trufant type potential in him. I really don't know if he even beats Alford out this year. He's very much got "enigma" written on him for me.

Vandy
I like Collins so far. I want to see what he does though.mHe was the one pick we did I questioned....I would have gone several different directions with that 2nd rd pick before Collins.....but then again, what do I know? GTBF54
Collins may be the best CB taken in this years draft............. We'll see.....

Uh let me guess you read on Walter football he only played 10 games and and now you are an expert on player evaluation. Lol

JayOzOne
I think he'll be fine with proper coaching. With Moore and Tru, we have a couple of leaders in the secondary and I think they'll help in his development.

Knight of God
Thing is, I totally understand WHY people are uncertain and will not try and force it on you. I also understand many wanted an OL, RB, WR, or DE at that spot as well. Also thinking we were stocked already at CB which we likely were. When a pick like this is made you have to really take your time to think it through. If he doesn't pan at CB, he may be an option at Safety. If not, he may be decent at ST's and if not he was a first year foul up for Quinn. No big. If he does, the we will be trouble with Trufant, Collins, and Alford. Tough trio to beat. B_Lo_Touchdowns
Collins was a reach but he should be ok in his 3rd year. Long as he plays the slot in rotation he won't get beat a lot. With proper coaching he could be a playmaker for us in the future.
Dem Birds
Collins was a good value in most people's minds based on talent. Character concerns and lack of starts are the only reason he fell out of the first. I honestly don't have many concerns about his character after doing more research on him. I don't think he beats Alford out this year but that's also because I think Alford has a pretty good season in store for us. I could see them moving Alford inside and playing Collins outside on third downs by mid season of he plays well.

Oldskooler
1) Repeated drug violations.2) Very few games started in college.3) Relies on physical ability over skill or technique. These are not the elements that are ingredients of a successful rookie campaign. He is a high second round pick. We can ill afford more blown picks; we NEED Collins to thrive, succeed, and dominate.I despair of his having the mental capacity, the work ethic, the discipline, to thrive, succeed, or dominate. atljbo
ive looked at some LSU games and its no way to know for sure how a guy will translate but i like Collins a little more ... I think the guy is physical ... Ive seen him get off a block and make a tackle .. I think he def need coaching ,.... The guy only started 10 games so ofcourse he is not there yet ... I think Alford will start but he will come in on Nickle plays this year .I love the way he plays the deep ball .. I would ask him to play on th outside in press coverage anytime he plays a down this year... ... I dont think its smart to play him off or in zone because he is still green. Again the guy has only start 10 games ... Just play him towards his strengthsI get why some would have went in another direction in the 2nd round tho .... But i like Collins ... He has to develop tho.I compare it to Rashede Hageman .... A high reward guy with first round talent but coaching and the player progressing is key...its a risk reward thing but if you hit ... You have something really really good
Falcanuck
I hated the pick at first, but beyond the Alabama game vs the best WR in the draft, he played like the best CB in the draft beyond Marcus Peters (who didn't even play).
Knight of God
Now this one I just don't understand. Stacked with who? Who did we have?Depends on who you ask man. Some around here thought Trufant, Alford, Southward, and Adams. Maybe a couple of late rounders and UDFA's.
hjerry
Depends on who you ask man. Some around here thought Trufant, Alford, Southward, and Adams. Maybe a couple of late rounders and UDFA's. Only three of those make any real sense. Adams was basically a familiarity pick. He's no different than Jared Smith and Allen Bradford. They're journeymen, and I have zero confidence in any of the three making the team, until proven otherwise. I rank their chances maybe slightly higher than the rookie UDFAs. brown bomber
I will say one more thing on him and I hope that I'm wrong, but he looks like he is easily injured and stays injured a lot. He looks soft to me for his size.
