Trouble
For all of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell’s big shots which were swatted away later in court, the one that stuck was with Saints coach Sean Payton. And the fundamental difference there is why Payton is having a hard time comparing his situation to Tom Brady’s as we wait on a #DeflateGate ruling.Payton served a year’s suspension in the wake of the Saints bounty charges, even after the player punishments were vacated by former commissioner Paul Tagliabue.“I certainly can’t speak for Tom,” Payton told Fox Sports Radio, via the New Orleans Times-Picayune. “The comparisons are difficult, because one deals with the players union, and in our case, there’s pretty much no representation outside what the league finds.“It was a process that took place, it seems like 10 years ago. Obviously, it’s challenging and frustrating to be away from the game for that long. But with regards to Tom and New England and Bill [belichick], they’ll handle this. I’ve really got no insight as to specifics when it comes to a player, because it’s a lot different than a coach.”Without the legal backing of a union, coaches such as Payton have little choice but to sit back and take it, when it seems everyone else gets their sentences reduced as soon as it leaves Goodell’s courtroom.Brady doesn’t lack for lawyers, which is why the next step in this unfolding drama is so fascinating, to see if Goodell is still willing to stick to his guns despite a really poor record when those cases get taken over his head.Wow someone should have asked when was the last time the Saints did anything meaningful then. was it 20 years ago? Shredman
Still been to the postseason more recent then you guys. Im really glad you guys dont expect much from us. You'll be in for a rude awakening.your window is almost closedthe 2 best things you have going for you is your QB and Your HCwe all know Brees is starting to Falter, just the way it is, Brees is Great, but he is not B Favre , his time is running out, fastand your HCI dont think anyone with any Football Knowledge will argue that he is one of the best O Minds in the Game, and also one of the NFLs best Play Callers, But it is very very Rare for any Coach Not Nick Named The Mad Genius or that works for the Pittsburgh Steelers , to have more than a 10 yr Run with 1 team, It just dont happen outside of Pitt, and now its very clear to me that Saints whole Offensive Game Plan since 2006 , is Scrapped , they want to be a running Team now, P Thomas, J Graham, K Stills ....... all goneyou play in a weak divso there is always a Chance when you have a QB and a HC, IMO they scrapped their Identity a yr or 2 to soon, In all Honesty , that 2009 Championship Team is Gone forever Man, IMO , even in this weak Div, Saints are a 3rd Place Team in 2015... but there is Hope, I have been Wrong Before lol, Its Just a Rare thing when I am Not Talking about my Team lolin other words , I am pretty Objective about everyone But Falcons lolwe will see
Sauce Castieaux
I'm pretty fair minded Saints fan (I actually have Carolina winning the Division)my philosophy has always been once is a fluke, twice is a pattern. Last year was an absolute disaster. But I have to see another year of that to call us dead in the water. I actually agree with alot of your views.Sean will absolutely be h ere as long as he wants. We dont typically fire coaches very easily. We keep bad coaches for extended periods of time so why get rid of a guy who is responsible for the greatest era we've had as a franchise. Outside of a crime, he's at the very least going to finish out the contract which he just signed an extension not that long ago.No one thinks this team is what it was years ago and I'm extremely worried about our WR's and O-line. My thing is I just believe we have as good as a shot as any other. We didnt have that utility type back that makes our offense run last year. Provided Spiller can stay healthy (a big if) we can go back to what made us successful10-6 which should be good enough for a wild card. Every team outside of tampa has a legit shot at this Edited July 21, 2015 by Sauce Castieaux
Shredman
10-6 will win this Div IMOand even Tampa Has a Shot IMOa small shot, lolbut a shoot none the lessyeaWR and O Line is a Concern for youThe D Could become a Concern as well , getting Byrd Back will help, but you are still thin at LB and this mess with J Gelliet (i think i spelled that Wrong lol) could become a Factor , and you have to get more outa KV , this time last yr, Saint Fans were saying he was the best SS in the Div, then the season started and W Moore Laughed lolif Saints do go more Ground and Pound, it should help your Rob Ryan led D.... Shredman
You have the same problem we have defense. We have done more to shore ours up coaching and player wise. We like our chances...and like us , they have O Line Issues, If everyone stays healthy , we may have fixed most of our woes, but yea, i want to see um on the field before i say we are ok there...but with the ZBS and the guys we brought in, I feel pretty good about it ...even if our D dont get much betterfix the O Line, Give Ryan 4 secs to throw the ball, and have to start accounting for the Run, Falcons will win some gamesbut yea our D has to be betterit cant be any worse lol
Sauce Castieaux
You have the same problem we have defense. We have done more to shore ours up coaching and player wise. We like our chances...Well maybe...The head coaching hire was nice but how will he do as an actual head coach. He wont be able to just focus on one side of the ball. Could be a great hire, or could be Rex Ryan part 2.While this may not mean much to falcon fans we have brought back a guy who helped win us a championship as an assistant coach in Dennis Allen. He's more or less an assistant but make no mistake about it he'll be the man if Rob cant get his stuff together. He's proven to be a very good secondary coach. I love yalls draft i really do but its such a crap shoot that who knows either way. Thought yall killed it honestly. I rather like the moves we made in FA with Browner shoring up that second corner spot that had Patritck Robinson and Corey White starting. Got a little deeper in ILB with Ellerbe.Of course we have guys coming back from injury in Byrd. A full year of being in the system combined with getting healthy and he can get back to where he was in Buffalo. Both teams have a lot of "what ifs" so we are kind of in the same boat. Shredman
ZBS might not go as smoothly as you think. It took us a long time to get it straight. well the 3 guys we brought in as FAs Pulombas MP and Chester all were starters for Shanny , so that will helpand as far as Secondary Coaches, we got a good 1 too, he was not a very good HC in Tampa, But R Morris is a Great Secondary Coach...things feel a lot dif for Falcons already with Quinn, and his hands were all over our Draft, we may come away with 3 pretty good Starters this yr if what I am Hearing and reading is True, Beasley, Collins and Coleman could all win the Jobs I hear...we did ok in FA tooGrabbed up 2 Starting LBs in Reed and Durant , both have already won the starting jobs and we have depth at LB now too, brought in Schofield and Bradford to add to that LB depth, P Adams @ CB , A Clayborn @ DE L Hankerson @ WR the 3 OL guys I mentioned and the 2 TEs Tamme and Moioki
Sauce Castieaux
Didnt know about Raheem. But his stint in Washington was not great. They did not have a great secondary at all. At least from a redskins friend of mine lol. He was not pleased with him Interested in seeing shanahans offense for you guys. Although the last few years he has kind of floated around the league as of late. Wonder if he's just hard to deal with or what Edited July 22, 2015 by Sauce Castieaux

Wonder if he's just hard to deal with or whatas far as Morris, he did great with what he hadwhen your 2 best Back end Players are Named Merriweather and Hall, You could Have Jesus Coaching the group and still not Finish in the top 10 in PBUs and INTs loland everyone knows Shanny is one of the top OCs in the League, he has Proved over and Over he gets the job done even when their is no Pieces, and he has Pieces in Atlanta, More Firepower than he has ever had in any Job... but yea, there may be some Issue with him personally , his last 2 Jobs, in Washington , his Dad was Fired, so that may explain that one... Cleveland , well yea, Its Cleveland, who wouldnt want out of that Situation lol , esp when you can go to a Dome and have M Ryan , J Jones , R White and D Hester to execute your Offense... but yea, he does seem to have a bit of an attitude , If things go well this yr, he wont be here long, he will be a top Guy for a HC spot next yr, thats the bad thing about bringing in these top tier guys as Cords, if they do well, they are gone after only 1 or 2 yrs....
