Congratulations! Just remember that marriage is a partnership - that it doesn't take away from who either of you are individually, but rather gives you someone to stand with, lean on and be there for.

There's no ownership in marriage. No one belongs to anyone. Treat your partner with the same respect and love and understanding you want in return and you'll be fine.

Don't expect honeymoon days every day - not gonna happen. No two individuals agree on everything every time. There will be things that irritate both of you. There may even be "fights". But, even during those fights, keep your mouth from saying words you don't mean just to hurt - those words can never be taken back - even with I'm sorry. Give each other some space - and be ready to swallow your pride now and then.

Good luck my friend. I wouldn't trade a single day of my married life - and I've been married longer than most on this board have been alive. He's my partner, my best friend and the love of my life. I wish the same for you.

Cool - you are getting married on my anniversary. 17yrs today!!!!!

Just remember that women are from Venus and men are from Mars. Also, "winning the argument" still results in sleeping on the couch and not gettin any. My words of advice.

Congrats to you and your bride - enjoy the day and your lives together - honor God in your relationship and pray together.

This is something I tell people all the time. It's just not worth it to be"right" sometimes.
