Bey Bey - 5Yrs 70 Mil

Recommended Posts

This actually confirms that the Wallace deal was a pretty realistic market setter.

that's not my point. Unless I misunderstood and that's possible, I was told players, especially these franchise guys, don't get paid like calvin and Fitz anymore and being a franchise player doesn't matter. May not have been calvin money but it's dam sure close enough.

Fitzgerald: 8 years, 129 million, 50 million guaranteed. Signed in 2011

Johnson: 7 years, 132 million, 60 million guaranteed. Signed in 2012

Wallace: 5 years, 60 million, 30 million guaranteed. Signed in 2013

Thomas/Bryant: 5 years, 70 million, 43 million guaranteed. Signed in 2015.

Larry was right. Wallace's contract definitely seems to have been the set market to begin discussions. Neither Thomas or Bryant's deals are close to Fitz and Megatron.

2 million off Fitz yearly and 4 off calvin yearly average. That's close enough

The guaranteed money and the year signed based on that cap make it bigger differences. Those contracts are definitely based more closely to Wallace's joint over Calvin/Fitz's contract

for clarification purposes, I didn't say these deals aren't based on what Wallace set. I said I was told they won't come close to calvin and Fitz money and even took the opportunity to admit that I may have even misunderstood. I know admitting to misunderstanding things don't mean much but it's there in black and white

Thomas & Bryant actually match CJ when you look at the guaranteed money & factor in the 2 extra years on CJ's deal.

T & B are getting $8.6M/year guaranteed (43M divided by 5 years)

So, if they were under contract like CJ for 7 years, it would be an additional $17.2M guaranteed, which would total $60.2M guaranteed for 7 years... which happens to be exactly $200,000 more than CJ is getting.

Stupid. Wide Receivers are abundant in the NFL and teams like Green Bay, New England, and Baltimore have won multiple Championships with average wide receivers. Stupid to pay that kind of money when you can put that money towards getting a o-line.

Donald driver, jordy Nelson, Greg Jennings, jamicheal Finley..

Torey Smith anquan boldin

To be fair the quarterbacks have made their receiving cores look much better than they really are. Brady and Rodgers are no slouch QBs. You also left off Steve Smith Sr, Wes Welker, Matt Slater, Edelman, Amendola, Cobb (most underrated on this list). All of which are probowlers or snubs from the probowl. Edited by RideOrDieIce

All those receivers nowhere near what Bey Bey, Dez, and Julio are making or looking to make. And again to pay that much money to a wide receiver is stupid. WR is the easiest position in the NFL to fill and the most expendable. If we pay Julio all that money we are going to have to make it up somewhere else. I say let Julio go and spend the money on the o-line where it would be money well spent. Julio is a injury risk and Detroit/Chicago/Dallas etc.. have all shown just having a big receiver aint going to get you where you need to go. You have to have balance. Defense and running the football wins championships not $10 million a year receivers.

If that BS was as much of the end all, be all that some people make it out to be, the Chiefs would have won 3 of the last 6 Super Bowls.

rushing (2014-2008): 10th, 10th, 5th, 15th, 1st, 11th, 16th

defense (2014-2008): 7th, 9th, 13th, 22nd, 19th, 3rd, 2nd
