Who Will Start At Tight End For The Atlanta Falcons?

Recommended Posts

I can understand why people got excited by Toilolo. The guy is a monster and he wasn't bad at Stanford. He sat behind Tony for a year and the expectation was that a year of practice would help him learn how to catch - it hasn't worked out, but he's still only 23.

I couldn't. He's always looked stiff at running routes, and even his run blocking is very overrated. Would not surprise me to see him cut.

Why would they go for that?

Only had 37 yards receiving last year, due to an injury that ended his season

If the injury bug hits him again this year or he has a down year, he "could" be available

It's just a hypothetical but similar situations have happened. The OC they have now is not the OC they had when he was drafted. Sometimes the switch makes certain players less valuable or expendable because of scheme fit

Didn't they also lose Gresham? This would leave them with nobodies

And if Eifert has a down year for the aforementioned reasons, he could be considered a "nobody."

Green and Sanu aren't really nobodies, either

So you would want to waste a draft pick on a guy who will have (in your scenario) been hurt for almost the entirety of his career?

Wait--- TD? TD! Howya doin'?

I said mid round pick. Mid-rounder. The TE's in the draft next year ain't impressive

Lest we forget the other part of the scenario in which I clearly stated it could happen due to a down year or scheme fit. There's 2 sides

I was mostly making fun of TD, not you. Humor is often lost over the net.

Anyway, we don't need an impressive TE, just one who doesn't suck.

Both Tamme and Moeaki are well above "doesn't suck" and more like "pretty frikking good" when healthy.

Oh no offense taken, I knew it wasn't directed at me

But Shanny works well when he has legit TE's. I saw so much promise Eifert's rookie year
