always has to be a debbie downer in every crowd SMH

It's just depressing. Just knowing that it's been 50 years makes it worse that the closest we got to a trophy was a blowout loss to Denver.

Speaking frankly, who cares? I'm interested in this season. Seriously tho, who enjoys dwelling on negatives? Let alone negatives from the past. Fandom isn't usually characterized by shame. Now obviously yea, I do care that we where that close. But its like going to a friend's wedding anniversary party and telling the couple about all the fights they've been in. :( Edited by Atlfanstckndenver

Idk if it's just me or does it feel like our stars are aligning for this Franchise to have a bright future starting this season.

I'm feeling it too. Never has there been an off-season where I felt as confident and excited as this one; not when we got Bartkowski, or Vick, or even the off-season after we'd managed to make it to the Super Bowl the first time. There are numerous, concrete reasons for why this off-season signals a dramatic change in our fortunes, but none loom bigger than the acquisition of HC Dan Quinn.

What he is bringing to this team is literally everything we've lacked in our HC's prior to now: charisma, character, attitude, grit, enthusiasm, leadership, aggression, talent evaluation, talent motivation, Super Bowl winning defensive expertise, incredible attention to detail, and last but not least, his unswerving commitment to all-out attack, max aggression on both sides of the ball.

Yes, some of our HC's had some of these traits, but we've never had one that had ALL these traits. I sincerely believe your HC has to have all of the above to make a serious effort at winning a Lombardi Trophy. We finally have the HC and dramatic steps have already begun to assemble a roster with the talent, skill and attitude necessary to bring Quinn's plan to fruition. It may not be this season, but by god, the Atlanta Falcons are going to win a Super Bowl Trophy very, very soon.

You couldn't have said it any better.

It's the first time ever the Falcons have had a head coach that doesn't make you ashamed to be a fan of the team! I mean I guess Leeman Bennett could have been that guy but that was before my day. Of the coaches I've seen, Glanville, Jones, Reeves, Mora, Petrino, and Smith, Dan Quinn offers the Falcons the most complete HC they've ever had.
