likeriver
Posted by Mike Florio on June 24, 2015, 4:49 PM EDTFormer NFL running back Herschel Walker sayshe can still play football. Current Falcons coach Dan Quinn says, “Bring it on.”Appearing Tuesday at a Buckhead Business Association meeting, Quinn said the Falcons could use Walker.“He’s one of my favorite all-time players,” Quinn said, via D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal Constitution. “Yeah, we have room for him. . . . He’d definitely fit in great from a competitive standpoint.”It’s unclear whether Quinn was serious about the invitation to Walker. It’s also unclear whether Walker is serious when he says he can still play.If both sides are serious, why not arrange a workout? If Walker makes the team, the 53-year-old tailback would become the oldest player in NFL history, by a full half decade. If Walker’s claim sounds familiar, it should. In 2014, while still a mere 52, Walker said he could still play in the NFL.So when is he actually going to give it a try?http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/06/24/dan-quinn-says-falcons-have-room-for-herschel-walker/Do you think DQ was serious? Do you think Herschel would be good? It would be pretty legendary from an entertainment standpoint

JRid
Please let this happen. I doubt it will, but I would love to see it. Heck I will be fine if we only get to see him play in a pre season game.
paulitik
Well, it would certainly be a childhood dream come true. Herschel broke my heart twice. leavimg UGA to join the USFL, and becoming a Dallas Cowboy.Imagine this: Herschel Walker smashing his way into the end zone for a game winning TD, in a Falcons Uniform, in the Super Bowl. Sigh..

JC Falcon
"He'd fit in great from a competitive standpoint". DQ loves a a guy that believeshe can still compete at 53. Herschel probably slowed down to run a 4.5 now. He is truly a freak of nature.

Jesus
What's the worst that could happen? He doesn't make the team? Bring him in.
FentayeJones
Herschel Walker could not come back and be an effective NFL running back at 53. I doubt if he could even make it through one game before before he pulls a hamstring or tears and ACL.
falconsd56
Well he is well rested! Not playing for what 17 years?? will do that

HOYLE
I heard Dan Patrick interview him a couple of days ago.He said he still runs a 4.35 forty. He said he likes to do what he wants to do and not what other people would like for himto do. He indicated he wasn't interested in playing football at this point.
