j105
This is awesome! I've been looking for some of these. That 2008 vs KC throw to White is one of my favorite Falcon plays ever. He just slings it down there like its nothing and the way White separates is nuts. Ranks right up there with that Turner one where he literally dragged a guy like 10 yards after running through 2 others that same year. That might have been versus the Chiefs too. AtlantaFanatic
For those of you watching, most of these are just awesome throws by Ryan more than they are great catches by the receivers. However, there is no denying the WR talent. Also I'm not a huge Antone Smith fan but it is fun watching him explode across the field when he does have the ball. Atlfanstckndenver
Looking at these throws it's just hard not to think about the mentality of Matt even in his early years. For over half of these throws he just had to let it rip. These are plays that you make just slinging the rock. He was never gun shy.

Soon it'll be Julio. 10 years later it'll be someone else lol. You know how it goes

cwell1
That 70 yard bomb against KC in 08 will always be one of my favorite plays ever because at the point of the catch I knew Roddy was here for real, and 07 wasn't a fluke

falconidae
Edited: Screwed up the math, Thanks Likeriver for pointing that outFor some perspective on deep throws, 30+ yards, all stats from PFR:Ryan: 30/181/16.6% 38/181/ 20.9%Cutler 32/183/17.5%Stafford 23/131 17.5%[ that surprised me, thought they'd both have more]Brady: 77/392/19.6%Peyton: 118/530/ 22/2%Brees: 88/396/ 22.2%Roeth.:61/294/20.7%Flacco 37/148/25%Rivers 55/252/ 21.8%So, he's about average on deep throws after all. That 16.620.9% is skewed downward by 2010:Ryan, year by year:2008 5/16/ 31.5%2009 6/22/ 27.2%2010 3/28/ 10.7%2011 5/29/ 17.2%2012 7/32/ 21.9%2013 6/26/ 23.1%2014 6/28/ 21.4%So, his last 3 years look like this:12-14 19/86/ 22.1%, much more like the rest.I know Ryan's history and what kind of offense he was running in 2010, don't know enough about the others to say if they were in a similar situation or not. Had to count Ryan's year by year stats by hand, just don't feel like doing that for all the QBs to see if there is a pattern of QBs getting better with the deep ball later in their careers. And yeah, yeah, know that YAC can affect those numbers, not about to sit down and tease out YAC on each individual TD for 100's of TD passes. If someone has those stats at hand, be fun to see them.
