New Uniforms

The colors are Torch Red, Granite gray and Volt green.

The red will have to grow on me, love the white and granite.

Plus matching socks, oh yeah.

I really want to see the court

What do you mean? If that wasn't a typo They showed it during the presentation and now the paint is the triangle feather pattern. Other than that it's the same.

A while black Koonin mentioned something about a granite court. Can't remember exactly.

I'm sure the baseline will be different, The color will be too because we no longer have the blue

Very true. Guess like jayu said it'll be gray.

It's weird that they put the feather pattern on but not the gray.

I agree. Bucks just released their court weeks after revealing their jerseys so I guess we're gonna have to wait

Based off of what I see on the Hawks site, they will also be mix and matching the jerseys and shorts at times. That would potentially make 9 jersey combinations.

I don't think any other team in the NBA has ever done that.

I'm not sure how I feel about the mix match thing. guess I'll have to wait to actually see them worn on the court. To make a determination

So this explains why you cant find Hawks gear anywhere.. this change was coming so why waste millions of dollars making

t-shirts etc. without the new logo. Guess this one will be around for a while. Hopefully merchandise will be flying out soon.

They look even better in person. Love that v-shaped pattern. Really unique and bold, and the more I see the volt green the more I like it. The red ones and that "A" has grown on me, but the black (or should I say GA granite gray) and white jerseys are still my faves. Overall though, they look really nice. I would love to see a combination of the white jerseys with the black shorts or the black jerseys with the red shorts.

NBA'S 2015 DRAFT CLASS LIKES HAWKS UNIS

ESPN asked the Class of 2015 for their opinions of Atlanta's new jerseys, revealed today, and opinions were very positive. Though UCLA's Kevon Looney had one issue: "You can never go wrong with red ... Well, you can. USC."

And therein lies the real rewards. Just another little tiny advantage of getting guys who want to wear this uniform. And it's going to be good for the fan base as well. Yeah theirs going to be a generational gap between those who like these unis and those who don't but older people aren't going base their viewing habbits on uniforms anyway.

Younger people (in subtle ways) often absolutely do. In isolated pockets across this country there will be kids who get their parents to buy them a Hawks jersey, or make the Hawks their go to console team for no other reason than the design.of the unis. Eventually they'll pay just a tiny bit more attention when they see the Hawks on Sportscenter and that may even turn into true fandom as they get older (especially if they're in an area without their own local team). If Bud can mold this franchise into a consistent winner you'll see that multiplied by a factor of 10.

Look at what flashy loud unis (and system offense) did for Oregon. In just a short decade they went from a moderately sized fan base tucked away in northwestern corners of the Pac-10 to one of the most bandwagoned teams in the entire country.

People say jerseys don't matter.

But go read the meet the poster thread in tatf. How many people say "I'm from out of state. I started following the falcons cause I liked the colors."

There's quite a few

jerseys matter in college. But in the pros they don't. Money is what matters

If young guys coming into the league like the jersey I really don't see the down side. Two franchises offering similar situations and $$$ maybe they chose the ones with the "cooler" uniforms. Hopefully the next generation of BBallers might even include some guys who grew up following the team (instead of the current batch who are from this city and can't wait to get out of it)

The biggest thing jerseys do for you however is improve marketability to fans. That's the real upside to this.
