AndySG
Bucky Brooks did a list of the top 10 offensive coordinators on nfl.com. Shanahan was number 9, but two positions higher at 7 was Koetter. Who would you rather have?Personally, I'm pretty excited about Shanahan. Koetter did a great job at times, but he got stale here and I think it was the right time to move on, despite the stats. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000498248/article/todd-haley-norv-turner-among-top-10-offensive-coordinators

droopy1592
Bubble screens all day vs actual strategy. I see some growing pains early and some out of sync struggles but shanny will have an outstanding year.
Mr. Lubba Lubba©
Well, Shanahan has never had the #32 ranked offense.I think Shanahan has the better track record, too, in terms of making due with the pieces available.
FentayeJones
Since I am a fan of ZBS and play action passing, I will take Shannahan.
Mid-Nite-Toker
Plenty of TATF members wanted Koetter(screens) after Mularkey...so far OC hasn't been a real problem...13-3 2×. I expect Shanahan to have success...as far as MR is concerned. All coordinators have had success...MR just has to shore up his end in the playoffs. JDaveG
I like Koetter, so I'm fine with it. But I definitely think it's based more off of how the team offense fared, and less off of what each of them had to work with. I also think it's a "what have you done for me lately?" type of vote. clownorg
I said it back when we hired Dirk, even though I tried to be ok with the hireWhy the **** would you hire the guy that ran the lowest ranked offense and think he'd do a good job.No way Koetter should be hire than Shanny on any list, unless the list is those likely to get the Axe
raysnill1
the only thing I didn't like about Koetter's stint here is that he forgot how to run the ball after having previous success in Jax. guess that was TD's fault though.Shanny has some pieces in place to be a monster, just hope the revamped line can be halfway descent

Da_Truth
Koetter became very predictable. In fact, defenses started calling out our plays before we ran them. Shanahan seems to be able to run multiple plays out of the same formation to keep opponents guessing. Also, I've noticed Shanahan has an uncanny way of getting his WRs/TEs wide open. I'm with Shanahan and believe he'll take Matt's game to the next level.

No doubt Shanny.

Truth is all eggs were put in the MR basket when we positioned for JJ. So far all offensive coordinators have delivered...whether we agree with their style or not.I think Shanahan will produce...MR has to go get it(playoffs). Oldskooler
Shanahan is a current Falcon. Shanahan is part of a staff that seems to have its act together.Shanahan has a track record of proven success, even with sub-par talent.Koetter is a Falcon reject.Koetter was part of a regime that couldn't get its act together.Koetter's results varied wildly according to his talent. He could not overcome sub-par talent, resulting in a #32 offense.Shanahan is a clear choice over Koetter. Koetter is only as good as his players. Shanahan's offense had success with Brian Hoyer at QB, a collection of no-name RB's, an injury-depleted o-line, and a cast of no-talent bums at WR. That squad may not have made the playoffs, but they were in contention until the very end.

Oldskooler
Why do people keep saying #32 offense?Koetter's offense in Jacksonville, the year before we hired him, was the #32 offense in the NFL.Koetter is a Falcon reject? He wasn't retained. He was fired. So yes: he is a Falcon reject. Edited June 23, 2015 by Oldskooler

DoYouSeeWhatHappensLarry
I'd say they're about equal in reputation. Though in this case, Kyle has the benefit of novelty in his corner. Trying new things with players that have been doing the same things for years is frequently a recipe for success.
Hashbrown3
There are far too many factors involved. Both men are highly qualified and capable. Sure hope Shanny has early success here though.
Atlfanstckndenver
Koetter will have success in my opinion. Tampa's offense will probably look good. That said Shanahan has balance over Koetter. Shanahan's expertise is not just about the passing game or the running game. Koetter, as one dimensional as he's been, still has had success.
