What 2Nd Year Player Will Make The Biggest Impact This Year?

Recommended Posts

No doubt in my mind it will be Freeman, this player is very gifted, I think I'm more excited to watch him this year more than even our new draft class, this is the first year I could ever say that. Every time they gave him the ball last year, he did well and improved all year and got more confident. He is very smooth and athletic RB. Watch Him Shine this year because Quinn saw his talent from the start. I was hoping he would because I think he may be the most talked about player on this team by years end. Why you say? Because Quinn is very smart and he has already stated that he sees the potential and gifts that Freeman has,, I could not believe we didn't use him more last year because it was even obvious to the fans Freeman is a gifted player.

This is my hope.

I'm hoping for Hags also,, But people don't understand the power of having a RB who can continue getting First downs, chewing up the clock and wearing the opposing D down,, This is how we went to a SB with Anderson running the ball, If I could pick one person who helped us most to get to a SB that year. It would be Jamal Anderson, Freeman reminds me more of him than any RB I've seen since. But Freeman is a better receiver than JA was .

This was Smitty's down fall, He did not depend or use the running game even half as much as he should have therefor failing as a HC, but that was just one of his many faults as a HC.

Given the dearth of OT talent on the roster, it better be Matthews. The Falcons need him to play 16 games, full healthy, and at a Pro Bowl level if they are going to really push to make the playoffs.

Hageman, Freeman, Allen - all 2nd year players who could be starters that contribute significantly. But if i had to choose just one that i would hope would really step up and become a stalwart, it would be Matthews.

Well , youve touched on the one and only position I fell like may be our weakest link, Which we all know is not a good thing, But I'm happy to say , I feel like as deliberate as Quinn is and how he leaves no Stone unturned. No pun intended ... lol, I think he will make our OL right before the first game. He's did that in every other position ,, I'm sure he'll take care of Ryan by way of his OL.

Hagus the Magus

Matthews is who I want to make the biggest impact, but realistically speaking I believe Hagus will make the biggest strides, and that's great too.

Matthews is one of those players , I just don't think we have to be concerned with.. He's going to be a great player. My biggest concern is the rest of the line.

No I think Matthews will be good. I just don't think he will out shine Hangman in his performance. Matthews will do good, but Hangman will do even better.

I'm hope your right... Hageman has the tools, does he have the mind and heart to use them? If anybody can teach him ,, Quinn's men can.

How in the world does Freeman remind you of JA? Anderson had like 35lbs on Freeman, and was a thumper who often looked for contact.

I'm not convinced that Freeman can handle 20 carries/game, much less the carries that Anderson had. I hope Freeman outperforms my expectations of him, but regardless of that I don't understand the JA comparison.

To the question asked- I think Hageman will have the most visible impact, and we will see the biggest jump in performance from him. I also think Matthews will be in that conversation.

I hope your right, But I do think Freeman will be the talk of the team by years end. And I'm not compairing size as much as production. I think Freeman will become our bell cow this year. With the avg or like 4.8 last year I think it was. Why in the heck did Smith not run the ball and losen up the pressure for Matt to sling the ball with less pressure ...??? Oh yeah,,!!! That's why Smitty's gone.

I hope Freeman and Hageman are both o good its hard to say which is the most improved. I have to say Hageman though. His ceiling seems higher and he played very little last year but still flashed as the most talented DL on the squad. Freeman flashed too. He runs tough and I love that. Coleman is the superior talent and should be the starter if both play to their potential but Freeman is a great 1-2 punch. Babinaux should be a back up nickel rusher and could benefit making more of the tackles he was in place to make yet missed the last couple years. Having help should turn those near misses into tackles for loss. Not being exhausted should be the key reason for 5+ sacks and 10+ TFL from Babs this season.

Good pick, but I'm going with Jake Matthews. I think his rookie season was a fluke and he'll be a stud this season

If 3 of those guys plus Matthews "significantly" improve, this may come down as TD's best draft ever

Additionally, Quinn aims to feature guys to their strength. That + a sound scheme + Hageman coming to OTA's already in great shape + additions Beasley, Schofield, Clayborn, and Reed spells very bad news NFC South QB's and a great chance for Hageman being best 2nd year.

ZBS + clear path after subtraction of Jackson and Rodgers bodes well for Freeman too, but Coleman should challenge for time and so could Antone. I just keep coming back to Quinn featuring guys to their strength. Hageman knows he is about to have a big year in the defense. He recently said how well it fits him.

Good one regarding Allen. I did not expect him to do much at FS when the move was first announced, but he seems to be making the most of it and we needed somebody to do so. If he is a reliable starter after not even making the team last year, that definately puts him in the conversation. I still think Hageman is poised to make so many wow plays that affect the QB and the RB behind the LOS that he is most peoples vote getter.

For a rookie playing LT, he was a stud last year. Given that we had zero threat of a run game, threw the ball 35-40 times a game, and everyone in the world knew that, I dont see how anyone can fail to give credit where its due. Add injury he reportedly played through and he was phenominal.

I expect him to be even better in year two but he started every game except the last due to injury. I thought he was the most gifted pass protector we have had in a long time. Matt Ryan could say better than anyone.
