GTBF54
It's one thing to hear coaches praise a rookie defense player but when the QB does it you know he's good....Vic Beasley is making his presence felt at minicamp for the Atlanta Falcons. So much so, that quarterback Matt Ryan shot some praise in his direction, according to D. Orlando Ledbetter of AJC.com.“He’s really showing what he can do,” Ryan told AJC.com. “He’s got great speed off the edge. He’s been working really, really hard. It’s a lot.”It's one thing to get praise from analysts, but a whole different thing to get the praise from the franchise quarterback. Ryan likes what he sees from Beasley, and it's safe to say that he'll likely be glad to have him on his side, instead of on the other side of the line when the actual season kicks off.Expectations are high for the Falcons this year, even after their struggles in 2014, and as the offseason rolls on, those expectations seem to grow even more.http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/matt-ryan-impressed-with-vic-beasley-thus-far-061715
GTFalcon25
It's one thing to hear coaches praise a rookie defense player but when the QB does it you know he's good....Ryan generally heaps praise towards anyone else on the team when asked. That doesn't mean VB hasn't looked good... it just means getting Ryan's endorsement is only slightly more genuine than getting your own mother's. DaMeatTroughsEgo
GTFalcon is correct. Especially if he was asked specifically about Beas

True, however he usually praises his offensive players and not so much a specific person on the D..... Just what I've seen from him.... I'm sure what he said is likely true, but this sort of thing is essentially meaningless. No matter what is actually thought about fellow players, bland coach-speak is all anyone will ever say.I heard some db who went from Green Bay to Jax in free agency sing the praises of how impressed he is with his new teammates and the coaches and the city. Sounds great! Until you realize he was never going to say anything else.
gazoo
Matt Ryan should be an expert at this point in time in assessing the attributes of a good pass rusher from A QB perspective. No player in the NFL has had a closer look at these guys than him
CrimsonFalcon
I'd love to see Ryan slap him on the helmet opening night and say "Go get em!"
cwell1
I wouldn't get excited just yet. I still remember when John Abraham said Jamaal Anderson looked like a young Michael Strahan before his rookie season
Hashbrown3
Beaz is gonna be a heat seeking missile. Even if he doesn't drag down the QB, you can bet he'll be causing all kinds of **** for the opposing Oline. He's a freak and he's a falcon. WTF, how gunshy we've become as falc fans lol... Heck I don't blame anyone's cautiousness. We've been trained to understand we don't need a pass rush. With other additions such as Clayborne and Jarrett and a few others, along with an entirely new scheme, our days of "don't get your hopes up" are OVER imo... GritsPittz
I don't think it's a matter of if Vic Beasley will be good, it's a matter of when will Vic Beasley be good. I hope it's sooner rather than later, but rookies aren't often beasts.

Quinn is gonna turn this defense around and many (probably not all) of these new pieces are gonna work.On the flipside, I understand the trepidation among other TATF's, as a team the Falcons have probably had 4-5 good defenses in our 49yr history and probably only one in the last 20yrs.
