dozer
Time to finally cut bait? Falcons OT Lamar Holmes is out indefinitely with a broken foot.Holmes had been lining up as the first-team left tackle in Jake Matthews' (foot) absence and as the second-string right tackle behind veteran Tyler Polumbus. He's competing for swing-tackle duties. Holmes projected as a poor fit in OC Kyle Shanahan's scheme before the injury and now faces an uphill battle. dozer
You can't cut a drafted player for getting injured. How about for lack of production? Because he is lacking in any meaningful on the field production.Actually this worked out great for Holmes, he gets to play Sam Baker's old role now & get paid to rehab instead of for any on the field production. djbrough
We have some cap flexibility. Go sign Evan Mathis and shore up the line. Polumbus will be the swing tackle. Edited June 17, 2015 by djbrough

dozer
You can't cut a drafted player for getting injured.Well there are no guaranteed contracts in the NFL & Holmes fits that bill. There are paid injury settlements every year when players get cut because of injury. If I am wrong please inform me. slamee101
Say what you want but being down two guys that could have potentially competed for RT is a concern. I expected Schraeder to win that job but this kind of sucks.
AtlantaFanatic
Can the PLEASE be the only O-line injury we suffer this season. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE me and Matt Ryan beg!!!!!
Romfal
time for Polumbus and Rodgers to step up, and hopefully Jake and Schraeder never leave the field.
