Falcons second-year LT Jake Matthews is excited about OC Kyle Shanahan's zone-blocking scheme.

"I think it something that's well-suited for me," Matthews said. "I feel like I have that lateral quickness and I can be a big help in this offense." Matthews fits the new scheme to a T. He's highly athletic and moves well for his size. Matthews had a terrible rookie season, but injuries were partially to blame. He sprained his ankle early in the year before suffering a Lisfranc injury late in the season.
He will fit in perfectly with the scheme.

I'm excited about the ZBS and this upcoming season with Quinn's defensive changes!

Alex Gibbs and the ZBS gave us some of the most productive offensive years... under the likes of Chris Chandler and Co. I can't wait to see our offense this year with OC Shanny and Matty Ice...

Not that Smitty was a bad HC, but Quinn's mentality is so much more perfect for this era NFL, I'm so much more excited by this year's potential than I've been for about the last three years!
