Prime Times Favorite Team Is.....

really? did not know that. (as you know I was not a fan in those times)

Yep. He said Smiths (owner at the time) could not afford to pay him, so they didnt even try.

Different days back then.People wonder why Cowboys and 49`ers where always stacked. They where franchise teams that had big player bases and fan bases. They where known through out the country. They could buy anyone.

The 9`ers cheated with him supposedly of using endorsements to sign him. His deal was big but not the whopper he could have got.

But the Cowboys took cheating to a new level. They had nike offer him a ton of money and they barely paid crap for him. So primetime got rich and a new suit every day and played for peanuts (if you believe the history books).

Fact is after that year, the NFL caught onto it and made the rule to prohibit that from happening. But thats when the rule took shape and if it was todays NFL it would be Signing gate.

Different times back then.

was it technically cheating? no because there was no rule against it

what really matters is the fact that Dallas has done very little since that advantage got taken away

There actually was i believe, but it wasnt taken serious (it was reworded and enforced i believe.). I have to go back and look it up.

But i agree they havent done much. #.500

Saints...Falcons...irrelevant outside of the NFCS region...

Since 1993, when the salary cap was put in place, Dallas won 2 Super Bowls. In that same time the entire NFCS together have won 2.

So...there's that...

You are talking 93' but the NFCS has only been around since 02'...you gave yourself a 9 year headstart

Who knows what might of happened if the NFCS has been around at a division since 93?

I love how you guys pretend that the Bucs, Falcons, and Saints didn't exist before the division realignment. That's like saying Arizona shouldn't count their failure in the NFC East and should reset all their history from the point they stepped in the NFC West. SMH...

I guess it makes sense. I would want to forget the years of being SF's ***** too.

On September 9, 1995 . Sanders later stated in his book Power, Money & Sex: How Success Almost Ruined My Life that the Oakland Raiders offered him more money than any other team, but he chose to play in Dallas

Gotta love how the salary cap was formed right in the middle of the cowboys run. Might have been because Jones was spending the bank on players. Like primetime.

We didn't forget but to act as though realignment wouldn't have made a difference 9 years earlier is ludicrous!

To pretend like actually having a good team isn't more important than your division is worse.

I don't care if the Falcons, Browns, Jets, and Raiders were in the same division, the Falcons trophy case would still be empty.

Name a single Falcons team in history that could have won a Super Bowl...now explain why they didn't...

'98 Falcons... coaching. I think we had the drive, will and talent to beat the Broncos, as evidenced by the NFCCG. Mike Shanahan was miles ahead of Reeves in scheme, in-game adjustments, and ability to set up a play for the next one.

Shanny beat us in the SB that year
