The Realignment Game.

Recommended Posts

Our current division looked good too back when we changed from the West and away from the 49'ers : But 13 years later , Saints and Bucs have the rings too show!!!and O yeah the Panthers have 4 South titles and 1 Super Bowl apperance in there shorter history of a franchise. We can keep moving but you still have to win the games on the field.

Amen, any schedule that doesn't let us beat up the Ain'ts each and every year, preferably twice, is no good with me.

Yeah man, like 90% of my 30+ years watching this team I only had the Saints games to look forward to. If they took those way I would flip out.

I've got this.

Get out of the 60's and scrap the conferences. Division opponents play each other twice per year. Regional opponents (North, South, West and Central) play each other once per year. Eight division winners + four wildcard teams meet in the playoffs; seeding based on record. Last team standing gets the Lombardi.

For those who always wanted to see a Brady/Manning Super Bowl, there ya go.

Or, if it's not going to be done right, just leave it alone. The current structure is certainly not broken.

Panthers have been to 2 Super Bowls? When?

I know they say you can't move the Cowboys out of the NFC East because they've played there since they began play in 1960 (which never made sense in the first place since they were in the west at the time when compared to other teams) but screw that. The Cowboys need to be in a southern division. The regions idea isn't bad. I'll take a page out of the NHL's recent realignment and go to fewer divisions instead of more.

SOUTH

Atlanta Falcons

Carolina Panthers

Jacksonville Jaguars

Miami Dolphins

New Orleans Saints

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tennessee Titans

EAST

Baltimore Ravens

New England Patriots

New York Giants

New York Jets

Philadelphia Eagles

Pittsburgh Steelers

Washington Redskins

WEST

Arizona Cardinals

Denver Broncos

Oakland Raiders

San Diego Chargers

San Francisco 49ers

Seattle Seahawks

MIDWEST

Dallas Cowboys

Green Bay Packers

Houston Texans

Kansas City Chiefs

Minnesota Vikings

St. Louis Rams

NORTH

Buffalo Bills

Chicago Bears

Cincinnati Bengals

Cleveland Browns

Detroit Lions

Indianapolis Colts

I came up with 5 divisions, 3 with 6 teams and 2 with 7 teams. Play each team twice in your division and then fill in the rest of the schedule with randomly selected teams.

12 teams with the best record make the playoffs. First tiebreaker is head-to-head, next tiebreaker is points differential.

PLAYOFF MATCHUPS

1. First Round Bye

2. First Round Bye

3. vs. 10.

4. vs. 9.

5. vs. 8

6. vs. 7.

Seeds 1-6 are home teams.

I don't think it's perfect but I actually like it and think it would spice things up and give us a better Super Bowl and a more perfect champion.

Crazy realignment does not make sense. I could see a swap of Indy to the afc east and Miami to the afc south. That would make sense. Obviously if the raiders and chargers end up in la one team would have to go to the nfc. I could see one swap with the st Louis Rams o Arizona Cardinals to fix that. That would be about all I could see happening

Miami, Houston, Tennessee and Jacksonville. Not exactly one for the neutrals.

The main issue with this is time zones, but I like the arrangement overall.
