The new listing of nominees for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for 2019 is out!

  • Def Leppard (yes)
  • Devo (definitely)
  • Janet Jackson (definitely)
  • John Prine (no)
  • Kraftwerk (yes...inadvertently helped to pioneer hip hop; electronica pioneers)
  • LL Cool J (past time)
  • MC5 (past time)
  • Radiohead (no)
  • Rage Against the Machine (no)
  • Roxy Music (maybe)
  • Rufus featuring Chaka Khan (yes)
  • Stevie Nicks (yes)
  • The Cure (maybe)
  • The Zombies (past time)
  • Todd Rundgren (no)

***my personal choices are bolded

I worked a few Zombies shows when I was still running music venues a few years ago. It blew me away how Colin Blunstone could still sing exactly like it was still 1966. Most of the time those dudes in those older bands can't quite do it anymore, but he was spot on. Rod Argent was still killing it on the keys as well.

DEFINITELY overdue for the MC5 to get in. I mean they have inducted The Stooges, Velvet Underground, Ramones, Sex Pistols, Blondie, the Clash, etc. so it's criminal that the MC5 aren't in there.

Kraftwerk is also long overdue, and honestly you'd have to put Can in there as well, since they were so incredibly influential to so, so, so many bands that are in the Hall or will be eventually.

Nice take on a great song by Gary Moore.

That was a good one, but his recent cover/arrangement of Queen was even better. I like his new signature model based on the AZ series.
