Falcons Kick Off Otas With Two Possible Key Pieces Missing On Defense

Recommended Posts

Bedwetter strikes gain

The Atlanta Falcons begin Offseason Team Activities on Tuesday with much work to do on defense.

But two absences may dictate juys how much gets done, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's D. Orlando Ledbette.

Rookie Vic Beasley, the team's first-round pick, and free agent addition Brooks Reed may not be present at the very start.

Beasley still hasn't signed his rookie deal, and thus cannot take part, and Reed has a groin injury that may take time to heal.

The Falcons had the worst passing and total defense in 2014, and hired Seahawks DC Dan Quinn as head coach to especially improve on that area.

I bet Beasley will be signed by Tuesday. Oh wait rolleyes.gif

Beasley has been at OTAs all week.

It takes effort to be this incompetent. How did he not know Beasley was at OTAs? The Falcons 1st round pick? The team he writes for? How? Like...I can't even.

Clicked on the AJC link and he deleted the article. Buffoon.

"I've been here all day, no sign of Rex Ryan."

Meanwhile, Rex Ryan has been there for hours.

Orlando Ledbetter is incompetent. The AJC is doing an incredibly poor job of covering the Falcons. Wyche and Moore were very good journalists. Moore adopted a very harsh and dark tone, but at least he was accurate.

I guess that I would be OK with a poor sports section, if the rest of the paper delivered a high level of local and world coverage. But, alas, no such luck. Why is this so? How can a relatively successful metropolitan area accept and support such a low level of journalism?

Honestly, would anyone miss the AJC if it closed its doors tomorrow?

Maybe the Falcons keep intentionally lying to him about where Flowery Branch is. He's actually sitting on the floor in a back room freezer at Applebees, connected to the Wifi and wondering when Quinn will address not drafting Gurley.

We all know that during the off season and free agency, there is a lot of disinformation going around. I sincerely believe that dled gets used for this reason very often. Also based on watching press conferences, you can see on the face of either Smitty, TD, or blank when Dled asks a question that they don't take him that seriously. I truly believe that even in flowery branch, that dled is a running punch line just like here on tatf.

I think they see him as a harmless, entertaining caricature

It makes you wonder doesn't it? With newspapers struggling like they are, how could they continue to allow d led to represent them for probably the biggest fan base in Atlanta. It really is incredible. Affirmative action? Lol maybe he really does have some lude pictures of his boss? Edited by Atlfanstckndenver

Boom

I also have to question his editor as well. With as many mistakes as Bedwetter makes, you'd think he would be expecting them.

Thank heaven for Vaughn McClure. I tell you he was/is a godsend. We had nothing before him.

Dled was/is an idiot and probably always will be. The only hope there is that somehow he's replaced with a beat writer with a brain.

Meanwhile, Yasinkas was the copy/paste king, reposting things already known for hours, if not days, on the ESPN page. What was it that Gritz once said, One day Pat Yasinkas will have an original thought, and the stress will kill him.

It is so good to finally have at least one competent person covering the Falcons.

I've said it before, but it's still true, the Ravens beat writer, Aaron Wilson, actually covers the Falcons better than the Falcons beat writer.

I cringe every time that I see Rotoworld linking to the AJC as if it's some kind of source.

D. Orlando Ledbetter believes... ugh disgusted.gif

So much fail and irony in this thread.

The "article" linked in the OP is nothing more than an outdated and sloppy copy/paste job by an anonymous blogger of a post written on 5/26 by someone named Anthony Maxwell on the site 60 Max Power 0. D-Led had absolutely zero to do with it.

http://network.yardbarker.com/nfl/article_external/falcons_kick_off_otas_with_two_possible_key_pieces_missing_on_defense/18855590?linksrc=story_article_yb_mainhead_head_18855590

The title of the blog post alone should have made all that crystal clear. But then, I remembered where I am. Not sure who should be mocked more - the OP for doing precisely what he accuses D-Led of, or all those who blindly joined the lynch mob without even questioning why an article about the start of OTAs is being posted, you know, a full week after the start of OTAs.

Personally, I want D-Led fired yesterday. But I see no need to falsely attribute every bit of random nonsense on the internet to him.

Was still wrong about Beasley not showing up and he deleted the article linked on Yardbarker, no doubt out of shame. No way for anyone to have known unless they'd seen the other article first.

Also, people need to stop calling things lynch mobs unless they have a racial context. It's not cool or funny. Just say mob.

It is an old article. Someone else acknowledged such, but it's still a stupid article regardless. Even the suggestion that he'll hold out of OTAs, and the likening to Fowler was ill advised at best.

It reminds me of the Rob Parker "article" written before our 2011 playoff game against the Giants, where he went on that offensive bigoted rant against southerners, and the city of Atlanta, only to come back later and edit the article to something tamer, and act like he never wrote the offensive one to begin with.

He said Beasley may not participate. That "may" part specifically leaves open the possibility that he could. How exactly was he wrong?

Nice deflection with the lynch mob thing, BTW. Guess you've never seen a Western?

I mean, which article are we even talking about? The one quoted in the OP or the one deleted by D-Led? See my point?
