WOR
Utah is pumping up the guts on the team haaardd. Might signal they don't expect to make a splash. Aka millsap
GEORGIAfan
I can't copy tweets from hawksquawk on my phone but... Gasol is meeting with Memphis officials and has no other visits lined up. Marc Stein says he's all but off the market Aldridge has 6 visits lined up for Tuesday. We're not one of them Welp. Looks like we are not in the Aldridge sweepstakes like the rumors stated. We threw away the draft just to resign our guys( if we even do that at this point). Different FO...Same Result.

GEORGIAfan
If this is really their plan, then they need to stop talking about win now mode. Win now means you take risks at the cost of your future to get big name guys to help you bring home a ship. We could have traded our seconds to get hardaway and used our first to get Oubre, Portis, Dekker, etc. We sold our future for nothing. We gave it away for what we already had. We had the cap space to sign Milsap and Carroll. Renouncing some rights we have would have covered the added cost of keeping our 15th pick and getting Hardaway. I still think we will improve and be better, especially once everyone is healthy, but really upset that we wasted a good chance at 15. WOR
Carroll has said numerous times money will be his 1a deciding factor. On 680 the fan he even said a 3 million difference over 4 years might be enough to sway him. I think the hawks might have panicked at that point. Saving an extra 500k on a rookie? You can't use that to sign someone, but with the way Carroll talks, it's enough to persuade him.
GEORGIAfan
Sense I get from latest calls is Marc Gasol, Kevin Love & Millsap are staying put. Aldridge, Monroe & DJ are in play https://twitter.com/ramonashelburne/status/615714935532707846

Guest
Why though wasting away cause this is that down period for them. He'd be better off in Boston.
youngbloodz
Everyone that follows NBA basketball knows the Lakers will always do whatever it takes to become relevant again. That's not even a worry. We don't worry about money cause we have the best TV deal of any team in the nba
youngbloodz
Jimmy Butler wants to sign a one year deal with the Lakers but can't since the Bulls extended him a maximum qualifying offer. So he can only sign a one year deal with the Bulls
jayu70
Read that Bulls offered 5yr/$90 - Butler has cancelled visits with other teams.
youngbloodz
Jimmy doesn't know if he wants a 5 year deal. He is looking at possibly doing a 4 year deal with the ability to opt out after

youngbloodz
West going to be stupid this year. If the Spurs get Aldridge they might have to be the favorites. Golden State and OKC will be tough no doubt.
AF89
Lmao Cavs paying Tristan Thompson as much as we're paying Sap AND bringing Love back. (and of course Lebron's contract is still pending)Where do these teams get all this money yet we're penny pinching on any outside names as if we're likely to go on food stamps any day now

They just invested 180 million today alone. Gilbert's going to have one heck of bill
