A Quinn Twist

Recommended Posts

It occurred to me today that Quinn's only had one year at DC for the Shawks. He also was replacing a very successful DC. In these situations where a new DC is replacing a very successful DC on a very successful team the head coach often ties the hands of the new DC to some degree. I can almost hear Carol telling Quinn "I know you've got ideas young buck and you're great but I want you to stay the course. Hold it together and don't loose sight of what we do and how we do it."

In thinking this I get excited thinking about the cards Quinn had up his sleeve when he was DC for the Shawks that he didn't get to use.

Do any of you Quinn scholars think this might be the case?

Edit: by twist I mean a twist on the Shawks defense that everyone says he's trying to rebuild here.

From what I've read, our HC eats, breathes and lives this football stuff. If he doesn't have at least a half-dozen devious little tricks that will seriously screw with opposing QB's, OL, and offensive coordinators, I'll be the most shocked guy in TATF.

He also has his mentors on speed dial and there's a network of innovators willing to share notes. I think it will be a while before Carroll, Quinn, or their running buddies are surprised by an opponent's innovations. I look forward to the Iggles this year because I want to see what he draws up for Kelly's offense.

thank you for not reading. I fooched the pooch with this post but, you get the basic idea.

I was tripping, brother. I did respond after that post. The best thing about Quinn will be that he will grow a lot in his first few seasons and hopefully continue the trend throughout a great career.

No offense taken at all my good man. I must have been tired when I posted this because i like to think normally I check my details a little better than that.

I'm very high on Quinn but, lately I'm thinking how lucky we got after Petrino left. we got insanely lucky to land our Winningest coach ever after our greatest debacle ever. How lucky must we be to land a coach that's even better? The odds would be astronomical. I don't know that it's ever happened but, it seems like it could with Dan and the crew he's assembled.
