Who Do You Think Will Be Our Best Free Agent Signing This Year And Why?

Read the title.

Quinn/TD have brought in a bunch of guys who could really help out our team, mainly on defense. There is absolutely no chance we see the same defenses of the past few years. Nolan and Smith put their players in terrible position to perform, and Quinn and his new staff will do the complete opposite. No more stupid **** like our only pass rushers dropping into coverage on 3rd and longs and other crazy stuff like that. Putting players where they need to be and simplifying the defense will lead to an increase in our defensive performance by itself.

Which FA do you think will have the best year, and why? What do you project for their 2015 stat sheet assuming they'll stay healthy throughout the year?

For me I'm going with Adrian Clayborn. I really wouldn't be surprised if he wowed everyone and put up great numbers in his first year. Though injuries limited his career, he looked like an eventual pro bowler after posting 7.5 sacks in his first year which is amazing for a rookie. Hopefully he has tweaked his offseason training so help his body stay healthier throughout the season. I know he also working with Chuck Smith which will also do wonders. I think this was a very underrated signing, and don't be surprised if he busts onto the scene and posts double digit sacks this year. I predict:

40 TACKLES

10.5 SACKS

2 FFs

Thoughts?

In my opinion, a combination of Reed, Durant and Schofield. The line backing corps was the weakest and thinnest position on the team and their addition, at least on paper have made it a solid and deep.

Funny you mention that. We all begged for upgrades on the front 7 and got them although the names don't match who we wanted but they are actual upgrades. Yet when writers discuss the Falcons they only focus on the draft and say it was a failure while not mentioning free agency.

Probably Justin Durant. Love the way he plays. I do like Clayborn a lot too. I don't see double digits at all...more likely 5 or 6, which still would have been enough to lead our team last year, and he'll likely be one of the best run defending DEs in the NFL as well. Clayborn's ceiling is very, very high in this defense.

And lol @ Tuggle, yep.

So many to choose from: Clayborn, Durant, Reed, Beer, Schofield, Hank, Adams, Tamme, Moeaki, Bradford...........

I think the biggest surprises will be:

Person - signed him for three years. Will likely be our starting LG and have a good year. Can also play tackle

Godfrey - big, physical and fast. Will probably be our starting FS and turn in a Dwight Lowery type year

I like those two. Person is probably the least talked about FA we signed. Would be ecstatic to see him succeed.

I'd go with Durant if healthy, then Reed. But I agree with FFS70 that Person is one to watch. If he can be just okay, he'll be a huge cog in the machine, and likely won't get the recognition he ought to simply because the other pieces on the o-line are known quantities.
