Atlanta's Own Pastor Dollar

So any of you RC'ers helping Pastor Dollar out? Saw on the morning news he's openly thumping his congregation for $65 Million so he can buy a new Gulfstream Jet. He claims it would allow him to further spread his word. He already has an Atlanta mansion and a high-rise Penthouse Condo, but he says God says it's OK. Dude is straight fire and brimstone.

Televangelist asks followers to buy him $65 million jet

He's a pastor named Creflo Dollar who preaches the prosperity gospel: the more you give, the more you shall receive.

But the finances of the televangelist's 30,000-member church, World Changers Church International in College Park, Georgia, are under close scrutiny after Dollar asked his followers to buy him a $65 million private jet.

Dollar's sermons pack his 8,500-seat mega-church, and like any house of worship, the church is non-profit and tax-exempt, reports CBS News correspondent Mark Strassmann.

His ministry has prospered with satellite churches in at least a dozen states and hundreds of thousands of online followers. Dollar owns a multi-million dollar mansion and condo.

In March, his website asked the faithful to help buy him something else -- a $65 million Gulfstream G-650 jet -- the top of the line in luxury air travel.

One church member, Mary Jones, plans on answering the pastor's call even though she rides a bus 20 miles every Sunday to Dollar's church.

"We support our pastor. That's what we're here for. The work that he's doing, where the Lord has him traveling, he doesn't need a cheap airplane. He needs the best," Jones said.

I'm curious as to how much of his hard earned $$ Dez sends ole Creflo each month.

PRAISE THE LORD AND PASS THE BASKET......I NEED A JET!!!!!

I was thinking the same thing. Dez probably believes that God wants him to donate to this cause so the man can spread the word.

Investigations today are showing that Dollar owns Bentleys, Roll Royces, recent sold another NYC condo for $3.7M and has a $27,000 marble toilet he special ordered inside his Atlanta mansion.

Praise the Lord! And I'm religious, yet I think this scumbucket belongs in prison for tax evasion. Every penny he brings in is tax free because he's hiding behind the church.

One reason I stopped going to church

One of many that made me decide to let the crazies have their way with it.

There are many, most of which I won't get into here as they're of a personal nature.

But when I was involved when most of my kids were very young, I could not get these ******* people to NOT call me on Sundays during the football season. Anyone that knows me, knows you'll get one word answers and hung up on...but not these ******* people!

I have a few other reasons as well but like you I won't get into it on here. I see older people all the time telling me "we miss you" "you need to come back" "put the Lord back in your life".

My responses are always "no you don't" "I'm grown, I don't need to do anything" "I have the Lord in my life".

My mom always tell me to tell them to kiss my *** and tell them I have another church but it's not that serious lol

I don't know what's worse...actually thinking ALL preachers or pastors are corrupt because a few are or thinking all Christians are gullible.

Either way it's pretty judgmental.

Forever the victim....

Everyone here's judgmental but YOU.....laugh.png

I'm not playing the victim. However, I will point out your hypocrisy at every given chance.

You are a judgmental hypocrite who asks others to look in the mirror whilst avoiding doing the same. You come on here blasting anyone that believes differently than you to the point of insulting their intelligence.

Then you have the downright gall to call someone else judgmental.

I couldn't agree more.

That's stupid. If you knew that a McDonald's employee in California was poisoning the Big Macs, would you stop going to McDonalds' in Atlanta?

At least be honest with yourself... you stopped going to church because you stopped getting "the feelz" from it, or you stopped going because you found something you like doing better on Sundays, and giving God an hour of worship per week seemed like a big hassle...

Yeah, yeah, I know... you help old ladies cross the street, you give to homeless people, you worship God on your own terms... I know it all. I'm not judging you; I've got my own problems for sure... just look inside and be honest with yourself is all the Holy Spirit asks of anyone...

A whole lotta truth in this.
