Bigtime A
Don't think he would have lasted as long as he did if it was an NFL team. I liked the guy, but maybe a new HC is what we need, have some really good players so potential is there. GS was a tough opponent.

Bigtime A
If Payton bombs again this season will that talk start with him, or does the LC give him a get out of jail free card?Smith had 10 wins over the past 2 seasons, Payton has 19 wins including the playoff win. The offense is still top of the league during most of his tenure, another bad season would likely be due to defense again and Defensive coaches will be in crosshairs, doubt Payton would. Kevo
They were smart in giving AD an extension before they fired Williams. Question for RC NBA fans: Who would you like to see as the Pels next HC?

Sauce Castieaux
Chicago is probably going to part with Thibs...I know he grinds guys down but it would be a dream hire.Maybe John Calipari wants to get back into the NBA. Id take him as well.

Sauce Castieaux
Im fine if he does, our players get hurt alot anyway at least thibs gets the most out of them. The firing concerns me about AD though. AD had not signed any extension. This is a risky move. They better consult with him about the next hire.Part of me thinks they've already spoken with Calipari and a deal is in place

Willy Mo
Give AD coach who can maximize his talent. A trash coach like Scott Brooks won't do anything but run plays for him alone. Brooks to NO

Sauce Castieaux
I really don't care if he does or doesn't. That's just the reputation he has. I'd take him over anyone.
Sauce Castieaux
Just google "Tom Thibodeau plays players too hard" and you'll get a billion articles on it including quotes from former players like Richard Hamilton (Although he kind of sounds like a *****) It's probably part of the reason Chicago wants to get rid of him. This does not bother me though, We need him.
nola90
He pushes them hard, but I've not seen one guy in his tenure (which is currently the 4th longest tenured) that had his career derailed by any means.Rose had a bad injury and wasn't even rushed back, only to get re-injured again and is now finally looking like the MVP-caliber DRose.Butler is logging heavy minutes, but only 2 other players (Gasol - 34:22 and Noah - 30:34) log more than 30 minutes on that team this yearEven in previous years, the main guy that gets heavy minutes is his wing (Deng) and that is usually because depth behind him and Butler are pretty bad.I'd take him over Monty any day of the week. I'm not worried about AD being "run into the ground". Deng has played 11 years and although he isn't playing the 38-39mpg, he's still playing 34mpg and producing quality numbers. Sauce Castieaux
Oh I'm not worried about it just saying that is how he is viewed. The way I see it, our guys are already missing tons of time due to injury so what difference would it make if it was indeed true lol. They have guys out there like cal and Sean Miller but I want a somewhat proven commodity. Too crucial of a time to ADs development to experiment with coaches.
