Clark Kent™
Highly doubt Swearinger is going to want to come in and be Moores backup. And he dang sure aint playing FS. He has a bad attitude problem. I do like it that he can stick though so if we did sign him i wouldn't gripe.
khalaff
I was never a true fan but he plays with fire and intensity. I believe he was let go from his attitude but I don't have anything to back up my claim. However if it happens it happens if not then I won't be disappointed. Guest Negatorris
Should've just brought back Lowery smh. He was at least solid, but now Indy has him.
Herr Doktor
One of my boys who is a Texans fan said they cut him because he did not want to play Special Teams. When they don't want to "play special teams" its code words for "piss poor attitude". Knight of God
I'd let him play a year at FS. In this defense, it could be some help. He'd have to earn the spot, but remember...he's at the rookie age right now.If I were him, I'd have my agent to call.

DonDaLuvMaker
I'd let him play a year at FS. In this defense, it could be some help. He'd have to earn the spot, but remember...he's at the rookie age right now.If I were him, I'd have my agent to call.I'd be okay with that.He developed a reputation as a poor tackler, but I saw him make some decent tackles when he was at South Carolina but he got away from that completely in the NFL. Quinn and the new staff could encourage him not to always go for kill shots and tackle more soundly and play smarter. He would also bring a very intense attitude to the defense. He has the ability to be good in coverage(covered TEs and big WRs in college) but he just needs to be more disciplined.Swearinger still only 23 years old, could be really good if he goes to a team that can somewhat refine his style of play a bit and teach him how to play smarter. blizzard_falcon
I just don't see it. Love toughness from a player but I also love guys who can play football.Yeah, he just isn't that good. If we want a safety who plays angry and lays big hits, we'd be better off with a solid veteran like Bernard Pollard than a trash-talking loose cannon like Swearinger.I'm just not sure Swearinger's attitude would be good for our locker room, which is pretty young at the moment and without a whole lot of veteran leadership, especially on defense. I don't know if he would be a locker room problem but he would be a step down. May as well do as planned and give the young guys already on the roster a shot. He can play, he is just plays way too undisciplined now.He was a bit more fundamentally sound in college. that's not what the Falcons need

DonDaLuvMaker
that's not what the Falcons needYeah, probably so.I would not hate it if Quinn brings him in for camp and tries to refine his game though. He would be cheap and it would be a low risk/ potential high reward. Tuggle'2
Yeah if he doesn't mind coming in for camp and working for a spot then sure. Would more than likely actually get inked to another team though. A smart man would choose the contract in hand over a contract they have to earn.

Tony Diesel
Bucs claimed SS D.J. Swearinger off waivers from the Texans. The Bucs have the No. 1 priority on the waiver wire, and weren't going to let Swearinger get by them after he was waived on Monday. Swearinger is known more for his borderline hits than overall effectiveness, but is a playmaker capable of setting a fierce tone. He upgrades what was one of the worst secondaries in the league last season. Swearinger will compete with Bradley McDougald at strong safety, but has a legit chance at earning a starting job.Related: Texans
