hjerry
Grady Jarrett - DL - FalconsFalcons signed fifth-round DT Grady Jarrett to a four-year, $2.527 million contract. One of the biggest mysteries of the draft was Jarrett's fall into the fifth round, where Atlanta aggressively traded up to select him. Jarrett should immediately push for snaps on the interior of Dan Quinn's defensive line. Jarrett has versatility with an ability to shoot gaps and plug the run. AtlantaFanatic
2.57 Million over 4 years? That's whats great about 5th round picks. They can only be good. If they suck, you don't waste a ton of cash on them and if they are great, you don't have to spend a bunch of cash on them.

direwolf
Wonder if they prioritized getting his deal done because of his family's house. If so, that was nice of them.

Sponge
Good for Grady. He can go buy himself a Kia now. After his rookie contract, he'll be at the Lambo dealership.

Jarod_Briggs2
I don't get his all the players are not signed yet. The new CBA basically says what they will make. Can't make more can't make less

Can't make more can't make lessthat's true to a certain extent. Most of the negotiations are about contract structure ie..how much guaranteed money there will be and how bonuses are earned and paid out things like that

PokerSteve
So, we've got a potential pro-bowler and we're paying him peanuts for years into the future. Life is g00t.
capologist
Just an illustration of why the full amount of the "rookie pool cap" won't lower the cap the full amount:#51 cap hit right now is Tony Moeaki at $585,000With Jarrett's hit being below that amount, it doesn't fully count against the cap right now. The only portion that counts is the prorated signing bonus of $61,985. Hope that helps explain how that works...
FalconJim
Glad they got his deal done --- I think he's gonna be the steal of this draft, especially, if he's anything like his Dad!!!
