turn'em loose
I haven't seen Jamie Dukes on the Nfl Network in months, turn on the Tv last night and there he is, and the first thing he does is bash the Falcons draft. He is a freaking idiot and hater, send him packing again NFL network.

silentbob1272
NFL Network has been much easier to watch once they booted Sapp out, Dukes being on hiatus just made it that much more tolerable (draft commercials notwithstanding). As much as I don't like Dukes, or Heath Evans for that matter, at least the king of the fuctards is not coming back.Warren Sapp wasn't exactly Mr. Congeniality at the NFL Network -- with a whole bunch of employees telling TMZ Sports they're GLAD he's gone ... because he was a nightmare to work with. We broke the story ... Sapp was fired from his gig as an analyst for the NFL Network after he was arrested for soliciting prostitutes in AZ last Monday. Now, after speaking with nearly a DOZEN current and former employees ... everyone is telling us the same thing -- GOOD RIDDANCE!! In fact, the people we spoke with ... ranging from low-level people all the way up to big shots ... told us there was an unofficial "Sapp Disclaimer" when it came to interacting with the Hall of Famer. Among the highlights: -Don't look Warren in the eyes (seriously).-Introduce yourself, but DO NOT try to befriend him. -Call him Warren. NEVER call him "Sapp."Of course, there are Sapp supporters ... but even they couldn't really defend the guy. As one person put it, "I know certain people [at the Network] complained about the guy a lot but overall he was always cool ... just unpredictable."Another person told us, "Warren has had one too many chances to get it right, and it just didn't work out for him. We all wish him well in the end."As for his tough reputation around the office, it's not the first time we've heard that about Sapp -- back when he was on "Dancing with the Stars" he was known as the "diva" on set ... and was constantly causing problems. mashburn*Fibonacci
Last night he said........ "Ryan was sacked the most and the falcons got him no help. And we are the worst at defense and got only one player on the d line. Horrible draft". So many things wrong with his statement.
HaRdH3ad
That tard said we drafted for best player available and not need? Wtf? After that comment I'm done with Jamie dukes

djbrough
Dukes just wanted to see OL addressed early. He's got a point. Hopefully a change in scheme will benefit these guys.Honestly, I'm still hoping that we bring a couple of free agents to compete on the OL. paulitik
The week Dan Quinn got hired, Jamie Dukes and his lapdog, Rick, pretty much just made up all this tension in the Falcons front office creating some imaginary feud between Dan Quinn and Thomas Dimitroff as if they were mortal enemies.Yet every interview Quiinn effusively praises TD, and credits him with being the reason he wanted the Atlanta gig. They practically hold hands when they are in public together.Jamie Dukes is an idiot. Always trying to make up sonething that's not there. newgafatboy
one knock on past drafts is drafting for need, which usually causes a team to reach, instead of drafting the best player on the board. just so happens Atlanta was in the same exact spot last year with the same needs, last year they took a player that happened to be a BPA as well as a need in Matthews, this year the same... just so happens this year with the same needs, the BPA was Beasley. i just don't see where his complaint is... maybe he is disappointed Falcons didn't use a 2-4 pick on the OL. with the same exact offense, and with a little better defense and smarter coaching.... falcons could have easily won 3 ot 4 more games. overall i think the draft improved the team. dfsutton
Last night he said........"Ryan was sacked the most and the falcons got him no help. And we are the worst at defense and got only one player on the d line. Horrible draft".So many things wrong with his statement.Really. I'm confused. Jarrett is a DT and will be on the line for all of his snaps. Beasley is likely to play at least part of his snaps at LEO on the DL. Isn't that 2 players on DL? Is he trolling me? capologist
He's such an idiot. "They have a desperate need at RT". Did he not watch Schraeder play and play well? He said we didn't address it, what exactly is Jake Rodgers? A RT!!!He also says we only draft 1 D-lineman. What's Grady Jarrett? Oh yeah, we drafted half of the best d-line in college football last year. Jeez, he loves hating on the Falcons for some reason...
Sponge
I don't like him on 92.9 either (Dukes and Bell)
Monolith2001
I wasn't really bothered by what he said. I didn't see it as hating. He's right, we did need line work and didn't address it. That said, he dwelled on that without looking at what we added in total so maybe he was being a little negative. Still it doesn't matter what he thinks. We give to much attention to these "analysts". There are people on this board who give better insight than almost everyone of the talking heads.
Falkonator
With a change in Oline philosophy, it's truly hard to predict what we need upgraded on the Oline atm. What didn't work at RT last year may work better this year in this new scheme, only the coaches have seen a glimpse of it so far,if they didn't draft an olineman early(we did draft a RT in round 7) it seems to appear they like the direction this oline is headed. Much can be said for the Dline alrhough. We did draft 2 players for the Dline.
*TMo*
Jamie Fat Boy Dukes got his feelings hurt when he was put on waivers by the Atlanta Falcons. He continues to hold a grudge and gets in bad press every opportunity that comes along. I often wonder why he continues to get air time when he's just not all that good at what he does, much like when he played center in the NFL. paulitik
I don't like him on 92.9 either (Dukes and Bell)That's a different Dukes. Rick and Jamie is the show. Carl Dukes is with Mike Bell, and that's actually the best show in Atlanta in my opinion, simply because it's actually entertaining.
